I am planning to buy Fiat Uno Petrol with A/C and if possible with Power Steering. I intend to use this vehicle for about 1.5 years or so. I have following queries: 1) Whether parts and work shop services of company are available in Pune? 2) As compared to other petrol cars like Zen, Santro, Indica - whether running, maintenance and spares for Uno are costly? If yes, how much? 3) Is it advisable to opt to run Uno Petrol on LPG? 4) What is current price trend of used Petrol A/C Uno cars? Thanks,

Dear Shrichand,

1. Yes, there is no problem in finding good workshops, spares of Uno in any major city today. The condition will remain same for a few years ahead, since you will keep the car for one and half years, you should not worry in this regard.

2. Spares are a bit costly of Uno. When it comes to comparing Uno maintenance with Zen, its on higher side due to higher cost of spares.

3. No problem, as long as you get approval from RTO. Means you are not buying a very old Uno.

4. Depending on car's year and condition, Uno petrol's price would be in 50,000-1,50,000 range.

Thanks a lot for the reply. I will be greatful if you could also comment on prices of spares of Uno in comparision with Santro & Indica as also indicate approximate differences in price in terms of percentage. Thanks again, Shrichand Nahar

Dear Shrichand,

Santro's frequently replaceable parts are quite cheap. Indica is a bit higher and Uno seems to be in Indica's range. Parts which are less frequently used have a higher price for Uno. Overall you can consider Uno as 10-15% higher on maintenance as compared to Santro. Its almost similar to Indica though.
