Sumit,

I am having a Tata Indigo since Oct 03. I have not had any major issues as regards service is concerned. I get my serviced at Sanya Motors, Mayapuri. I guess they are almost as good as the competitors.

Hi!

Happy New year to all. I finally ended up buying Maruti SX4 after breaking my head for 3 months with TATA sales persons and the prices running over my eligibility limit.

The sales personnels were pathetic it took them 3 months to get me to test drive a normal piece with no glitches. So decided against it..

Happy New Year and congratulations Sumit SX4 is the best from Maruti!!! Do post your buying experience and feedback here for benefit of others.

Once I had similar experience in Tata dealership here in Lucknow. I was amazed... I visited showroom, checked Indigo & Fiat adventure, I checked everything in both these cars but nobody asked anything. On the other hand, I visited Maruti dealership, they showed my Cars and asked my no. and I was receiving regular calls from dealership untill I told them that I've bought my car.

my friend cancelled the booking of Grande and bought Innova.

That explains why TATA is facing all the problems today.

U go to their dealership and the sales folks are just not interested. The worst most of them don't even know their products well, forget competition. Sincerely, TATA shud restrict to only commercial vehicles.

The experience with Maruti was good, they got me the car for test drive at my work place which was around 12 kms from the showroom and then also to my house which was the same distance in another direction.

The deal was done quickly without "will get back to you" and fogotten like in TATA. Since it was a purchase by my company the paper work involved (quote & approval) was slightly moer and Maruti guys co-operated fully. They have already sold 3 cars thru my ref and three more in the pipeline. One can say TATA's loss Maruti's gain...

will write more later about the car later.

Well all I can say that is:

The Maruti dealer was better than the tata dealer.

Same goes for the sales & service team.

Tata is in a way responsible for this as it is tarnishing their car's image. They should start involving in quality measures/feedback like how maruti/hyundai does.

I think it's more or a mind set issue. TATA has been selling comm vehicles from time immemorial and are good at that, however they have not been able to upgrade to selling passenger vehicles like say a mhindra has.

There is a serious difference in the quality of people if u go to buy a bolero and if one goes to check the scorpio. I think TATA need to come up the curve. Especially with fiat launching new premium models and Nano gaining international acclaim coupled with JLR coming into their stable TATA really needs to pull up it's socks..

I had tried Maruti, Hyundai GM & ford before buying my car and received regular follow up calls from all of them till I purchased the vehicle also they asked me for a feed back as to why I did not choose their brand which I feel is the right way to do things.. No wonder hyundai is still rocking in the midst of slow down in the auto sector (obviously also thanks to India beoming the manufacturing hub for them)

They are improving service that is for sure, service is far better than earliar what Tata was providing. After service you will definitely receive a call from Tata and executive will ask you few questions about the service and he will ask you how much you want to give from 1 to 10 points? Dont know whether after receiving feedback what they are doing? paying attention or not? Yeah, quality of service definitely improved.

Good to hear that Rajiv. Surely one of the strongest names in the Indian auto industry and the only India auto company really going global, would be more that happy to drive one of the cars manufactured by them in future provided their service standards also improve to the international standards

Yes Sumit

Actually problem is not with the company in my opinion, few dealers only and this is not the problem with Tata, if you will search you will find similar problem with Hyundai, GM & even with Maruti. But generally, if someone is not providing good service people will say Tata is not providing good service. They are not willing to sell cars.

Infact with GM, can u imagine you are visiting GM showroom 2nd time for booking of 2 u-va cars at the time of Dussera and you are saying, you want to book 2 cars what is the discount you can provide and executive is saying, we are not able to deliver cars, demand is high and we cant provide any discount (I asked for insurance only coz every car maker was offering discounts at that time including Maruti) and you are saying Say yes and I can make advance payment right now, and he is saying Sorry! No Discounts! Laughing
