Legend / Titles given to participants in the forum

Dear Sharma Ji / Pankaj,

Help me understand this a little - I see the title associated with the member as 'Fresher', 'Driven', 'Beloved', Long-termer' etc.

Recently, after my 500th post, it now reads as 'Best Seller' even without selling anything. No offences given or taken - I was a bit surprised at this change. Can you explain what 'Best Seller' is all about??

When I was working on these titles, I wasn't sure what to associate people around with. Then I thought CarWale is all about Car and Wale (people who own cars). So the word *car* inspired me and I finalized the titles as per car's success rate in a market. Here is a detailed explanation:

New Arrival: A car that's just launched or a member who has just arrived in the forum.
Driven: The car is a bit old now and people have driven it. It's *tested ok*  now.
Long-termer: The car is even older now and many have had a long-term relationship with it.
Best-seller: The car has proven to be a hit by now. (So, you are a best-seller here. You haven't sold anything but the name *Kvsk* is a hit.)
Beloved: The car is everyone's beloved now.
Legend: Hall of Fame.

This is indeed very, very interesting!! Infact, i must admit that the very layout of www.CarWale.com is very exciting. Everytime i open www.CarWale.com i can feel that this place is designed for everyone and not just for car enthusiasts or for a select target audience. It is equally attractive for a seller, buyer, knowledge seeker, dealer, one-time-partitipant, expert, industry leader etc. to logon to this place and gain lots of meaningful information.

 

And as a regular participant on the forum, i feel the idea behind the titles is very appealing. I think there is lot of value in the title that is acorded to a participant. Thank you for making this place so nice to look up and come back to.

It wasn't a bug. I was testing some new feature coming up on the site and I forgot to revert my name to the original one. When you mentioned it, I realized and reverted it back to Banwari Lal Sharma.

Hi Ban,
How the status of a member changes , I mean , Is it based on no of posts or  no of days of membership or any other parameter.
Is the sequence as below
New arival->Road Tested->Driven->Long Termar->Best seller->Beloved->Legend.
Can you tell the break up of each status.... I mean after how many posts status changes ftom new arrival to road tested and then to drive....and so on
