MAintenance of LPG retrofitted engine wud NOT b more than a Diesel Engine ..!!

bt yes..i agree the longevity shud b more.....Given that both engines are serviced on time,n used rationally !!....

Maintenance Cost

  • LPG Retrofited car has more maintenance cost than Petrol car.
  • Petrol Car & Diesel car have same maintenance cost these days (same manufacturer) - have a look at this comparison.

Longevity

  • Petrol engine has better longevity of LPG Retrofited engine.
  • Diesel engine (sturdier & stronger) has better longevity than Petrol engine.

ya ya .. i agreed abt the longevity part Pankaj.....( infact that what i meant initially....my apoligies for not presenting it more clearly)

The only point i disagree is abt the maintainence comparison b/w Diesel n Lpg Retroffited Cars....

Lpg retrofitted cars hardly hav ne extra maintainence n is certainly equal to PEtrol!...not more than it.

As I understand, power loss (10-15%) due to LPG is on account of the extra burden the engine has to undergo.  The burden increases the wear & tear, and therefore higher maintenance & lower longevity.

LPG maintenance is therefore higher than it's in Petrol, and obviously higher than Diesel too (Petrol & Diesel otherwise same).

Burden in the sense, it has to exert.  Power loss is for sure.

ya power loss is ofcourse der....

but i sumwat remember,Ban gave us reasons as to why a retrofitted petrol engine might last LONGER than  normal petrol engine.at no extra (negligible)maintainence cost.
