Dzire is definitely better than Logan - no doubt about it.  But I suggest Logan for a family size of 5 well-built persons (like in this case).  Logan isn't "under-powered" - overall performance is good, and so are the interiors & features - though not as good as Dzire's.

Anyway, take a looong test-drives of the carS before deciding.

Have got hold of a dealer who promises a delivery of Dzire VDI in 20-30 Days... Have asked for a test drive as well.

Will keep you all posted on the progress and the test drive experience. However, no one is taking bookings for ZDI in Kolkata :o(

Ashish,

My experience is bad about delaer who promises 20 to 30 days before booking and then it goes on increasing to 6 months. I had faced the same. Please confrim thrice or more about delivery period.

In Pune, there is minimum 6 months waiting for Dzire and even more for Diesel versions.

'promises are made to be broken' if the dealer promised delivery in 20-30 days ask him to give that in writing.

Yes they will...but not for the Swift DDS and the Dzire(all variants), actually they will provide a booking number using which you can track the status of the vehicle from the factory...this is all theory but have seen it when my uncle bought a baleno.

I test drove a Dzire yesterday and it swept me off completely but the dealer is now stating a wait time of 1.5 Months and they want to take my old car before 30th of this month.... that essentially means that i'll be without a car for 1 month (Considering the dealer will stick to the wait time).... if not then i'll be in a soup.... Don't know what to do....

The dealer is oushing me to take a Swift VDI instead.... but somehow i'm not very convinced and in my heart i want to have the Dzire :o(

D'zire is very good car like swift with decent interiors but as binoy mentioned 'promises are made to be broken' if the dealer promised delivery in 1.5 month, ask him to give that in writing.

I know so many guys who booked Spark (though the car from GM) in the month of october and got the car in Jan last week or in feb. 1st week. They suffered alot because dealer promised them. Even at the last moment my dealer changed my color by saying if you want white then u have to wait n I am not sure when i will provide you white LT.

So, ask ur dealer to give the delivery date in writing.
