Hi,

This is a thread to vent your frustations or pay your homages to the cars that have hit the Indian Market and disappeared in no time. I know that most of us would tend to use certain exquisite selection of words especially while venting our frustations, May I request you all to stick to the decorum and still curse the cars.

My choice for the worstever cars:

1.   Maruti 1000 - It came, never surged ahead as it was god damn sluggish and then it disappeared - ofcourse the only thing in its favor was that the designers at Maruti then released the Esteem, which was quite unlike the Maruti 1000.

2.   Opel Corsa - It came, a few were sold and then it disappeared - only to leave a very bad taste for the selected few owners of this car.

3. Tata Indica Version 1 - Boy, this was a car where anything can fail at anytime - My boss use to drive one of this disaster and in his car, either the car moved or the AC worked - it had quite a notorious set of brakes - they would fail for quite a lot of unknown reasons.

Please add your opinions and share your thoughts about some which have come to the market and then disappeared in no time.
Cheers,

K Prasad

Here is my list:

Ford Escort: It was launched in a price-bracket of 8 lakhs and by no means was it worth the money. Ford not only discontinued the car but also pulled all the after-sales-support. Maximum of Escort owners are still regretting their decisions. You may easily find a 1999 Ford Escort for as low as 45,000 rupees!

Maine Reva: Electric car, an inspiring concept. But Reva has been a very bad implementation of the great idea. The car lacks at looks, design, space, performance, ownership and almost everything.

Mahindra Voyager: What a disaster! They managed to sell a few but those too are disappeared now (I suppose, they are either recycled or are about to be recycled).

Maruti Versa: Declaring it as one of the worst cars might be a controversial thing but can't help it. It has got a few wonderful features but in my opinion it's one of the worst cars in India as far as looks, safety and design are concerned.

Tata Estate: In spite of several attempts, I could never differentiate Tata Estate from Tata 207. To be very frank, for many years I was under-impression that the Estate is nothing but some local guy's body-job on a 207!

Another one I can think of is the Zen Diesel - Never really took off - If Tatas were known to swim in diesel, Maruti was always known to be it's equivalent in petrol - This one was the first one really and it bombed.

Cheers,

K Prasad

No Car is Worst. No Manufacturer ever expects its baby to be born without any bright future. It is the destiny which no one has the say in it nor any inclination.

Let us not be the Judge rather be a sympathiser. It needs a great courage and power.

God Bless Every One - living or lived.

Sri Vsh seems to have some sort of inherent hatred for the Ikon.....which the Ikon never ever deserves...trust me

Sri, I would like you elaborate on your point as others have done the same....some personal experience or just like that.....??
