I am confused between Palio Diesel and Indigo Compact Sedan. Almost both cars are priced same. Please reply below.

1. Which Car is spacious and has good leg room for front & back seats?
2. Which Car has the best Driver's Driving Comfort?
3. Which Car has the best Front & Back Suspension for smooth travel?
4. What is Mileage for the two cars?
5. What will be the expected selling price for the two Cars after 3 years?

WHAT CAR WILL YOU SUGGEST TO ME

if i am not wrong already you have Palio petrol? you know much better about the palio and diesel one is very good coz of engine, the same engine which maruti is using in Swift. Palio is a good choice but why you are comparing it with Sedan?

Like mobile phones, car is also a status symbol, am rite? All depends on your requirement, your monthly budget, no. of family members, your usage & your city etc.

If your use is mainly city and you have some parking problem too than you can go for hatch, but if your budget allows you, you want space, highway trip, have ample parking space at home and if you can afford than go for sedan. Any car which suits your budget and requirement.

Here are my answers:

1. Which Car is spacious and has good leg room for front & back seats?

Both are pretty much equal - probably Palio is more spacious from legroom prespective. However, the real difference is the boot and no boot.

2. Which Car has the best Driver's Driving Comfort?

Palio - More power, easy to drive, it is a hatch so, slightly easier to drive as compared to Indigo CS. If you mean driver's comfort from personal comfort prespective, both are equally comfortable - Indigo can make you cry for certain controls and operations are not the best designs - like the gear box - it needs to be muscled through.

3. Which Car has the best Front & Back Suspension for smooth travel?

Both have very good suspensions - Indigo has slightly inferior suspensions, but, thanks to the boot, it has better overall balance - so, kind of evens it out.

4. What is Mileage for the two cars?

Palio - 15 in city and 20-22 on highway. Indigo Petrol - 10 in city, 13/14 on highway. Diesel - 14 in city and 18 on highway.

5. What will be the expected selling price for the two Cars after 3 years?

Tuff to say as both are new launches. If Fiat goes as per market speculations and really expands in India, then Palio certainly will fetch you more. If Fiat fails to spread and they have a brawl with Ratan Tata, then, it might not fetch a great sum. My prediction - Palio will fetch you more.

Cheers,

  1. Palio has 1248 CC engine that delivers 75ps of power @4000rpm & 184nm of torque @ 2000rpm, and generally gives mileage of 17/18 in city & 21/22 on highway.
  2. Indigo CS has 1405 CC engine that delivers 70ps of power @ 4500rpm & 135nm of torque @ 2500rpm, and generall gives mileage of 14/15 in city & 18/19 on highway.

Though CS has bigger engine (CC), Palio generates more power & substantially more torque. Therefore, overall performance, pick-up & accelaration of Palio is better than CS - more so on highway/ high speed due to much higher torque (roll-on accelaration).

Besides, Palio has better (slightly) suspension & therefore, it has better ride-quality.  Road-grip too of Palio is better - you feel the difference at high speed - you feel more planted to roads.

Better go for the Swift Dzire LDI or VDi or else the Swift VDi should be a good choice

the palio is a hatch while the CS is a sedan. comparing the two is actually not justified. you can select one of the two only on the basis of your driving conditions. palio is a better bet as it delivers more torque than the CS along with better fuel efficiency. torque comes into picture when you have to make frequent gear shifts in heavy traffic. higher the torque, lower will be the gear shift rate. but then then only disadvantage that i see in palio as compared to the CS is the lack of a dedicated boot space. if you will not be doing much travelling with loads and loads of luggage the palio is definately a better buy. it has a 1300cc engine which is used in the likes of the swift. pretty powerfull. after sales services will be same for both the cars as the services for both the cars is taken care of TATA itself.

Why break rules when following them is much easier!!!
