I have recently purchased a Maruti Swift VXi and now m confused about the ICE setup. I have choosen Pioneer 3050 as a HU ( Since the features of 3050, 4050& 5050 are same, but 3050 has a front facing USB drive). I am confused about the Rear & front speakers:

Earlier i had finalised the JBL GTO 937 6x9 for Rear and JBL GTO 607 or  JBL GT5 652 for the front, but when i approached one of the accessory shop in Navi Mumbai, the shopkeeper showed me the new Pioneer ( Kevlar ) speakers and nearly convinced me that these new Kevlar Pioneer speakers outperforms any peers in the market, it has got a great bass and normally no need of amplifier and SUB.

My quesry is that should i go for my earlier set up i.e ( JBL) or the new Pioneer ( Do not know and read about it, so need faire suggestion). Pls help.

Go for the JBL Speakers - they are well proven in the market - I too have them and they do a great job. Pioneer (Kevlar) speakers are also good but my personal preference was more towards JBL.

Regards,

K Prasad

Thanks for your prompt reply......but as far as my knowledge goes ( as per the discussion in this forum)....JBL are best suited for Rock & high pitch music and Pioneer ( Kevlar) are good for soft music.....I generally prefer soft, classical  music.....so suggest still i should go for JBL or Pioneer.....

Secondly the JBL models i mentioned [ for rear ( coaxial) & front ( component)] are Good enough to give me a good bass and SQ. If any other JBL models ( for rear & front both) pls sugggest...

Also pls suggest going for Pioneer 3050 is a good decision ( as i mentioned every feature is same in 3050, 4050 & 5050 except the Price)?

Or u suggest the higher versions.

Well, Pioneer 3050 is a good HU. I have gone for the 5050 only because I felt it offers some protection from dust entering the CD slot - Also, the extra space on the HU means better controls and easier operations - but that doesn't mean that 3050 is not an easy thing to operate - it is also a very good HU.

Well, JBL should suit you for the softer (classicals) etc. Actually, for soft music, it is all the more better with JBL.

Cheers,

K Prasad

If you are still confused over which one to pick, I suggest you to try it out - ask for a trail on both of the them and then decide. It is perfectly possible for the shop owner / dealer to show the performance of the speakers to you in other cars. So, if you compare it that way, it is going to be easy for you to decide.

Cheers,

K Prasad

Finally got the ICE done for my Swift VXi.....

I had predecided (after going thru the forum suggestions) that in would go for Pioneer 3050 or 5050 HU, So i opted for 5050 as it has a 2 line colored display...with front CD loading.....and its really worth...

In speakers i was biased for JBL ( Though big fan of JBLs) and Pioneer Kevlar (They have really gr8888888888 bass effect that it feels that u dont need a Woofer)...but finally i decided to go for JBL...i.e 6*9 GTO 937 for Rear.......and GT5 502 for front (since new VXi has space for 5" speakers now...earlier they have space for 6", otherwise i would have gone for GT5 963 or GT5 652)....

Now i am preety much happy with the complete ICE setup....

Suggestion requested from the members about the setup i chose......

Any additions to the current setup is welcome...

Surely i'll do that...the total setup cost is as follows :

GTO 937 (6*9) - 2850/-

GT5 (502) - 1900/-

Pioneer 5050 - 6150 ( W/o B&W)

MDF - 300/-

Total 11200/- ( Plus 400/- labour charge)
