The run is substantial - over 2000 kms per month (60/70 per day).

To day i have checked a Indica V2 diesal, which is of 2002 rgistration, power starring, single owner, no damage to car body, new tyres, Insurance expired & has been droven for around 40 Thousand KM. The car owner is asking for 1.50 Lac.... Plus trasfer & other things.

What should be the right cost of car?

I think the price of Rs.1.50 lac quoted is quite reasonable.  However, try & bargain to the extent possible - tell him to atleast get the insurance renewed & bear the transfer expenses etc.

Needless to add, check the insurance history for accidents/claims, if any, and also get the car inspected from a good & reputed garage.

The car is 6 years old and it is about time that the rusting of body parts starts pretty much in most cars - not a major thing to worry if the owner has followed regular maintenance and has taken good care of the body. Believe me, for 1.5 lakhs, you might just get a car that is about 4.5 to 5 years old. But then, this one is not used much as 40000 is not such heavy usage in 6 years. Suggest you to check the maintenance records and other details - more specifically directed towards the body of the car to ensure that rusting is not existant or is not heavy to start with

Yes, price he is asking is not bad if the car is in good conditions, Check the body of the car from inside and outside. Go through the service book of the car and if possible, check the insurance/claim history too.

CNG is very economical.  It will, however, reduce power by 20-25%.  But it should not be a problem in Esteem, as it is a powerful car - the power loss may not be 'felt' much.  You will have to check which CNG kit/s are approved for your car - the approval/permission is car/model-specific.

If you wish to have further discussion, please start a new thread in LPG/CNG Conversion (this is Car Buying Section).  Your query will be noticed & responded well - you will benefit.  For the purpose, here's a LINK to do that - just click open the link, type a suitable title, your query in the space provided therein below, scroll down & save/post it.
