blaupunkt and sony would be the best options. for your budget i would suggest blaupunkt hamburg
(has bluetooth support) or blaupunkt kingston head unit and blaupunkt gtx oval speakers for the rear and 4" speakers for the front. sony xplod is also pretty good try the cdx-gt460u has usb and aux in with jbl speakers for the front and rear. the sony config would be slightly cheaper around 12k. otherwise pioneer 4050u is also good. any of the above three options will suit the wagonr.

Dear Shreyasailesh & VT

First of all Thanx for your prompt response and guidance.

For your information I have purchased all other accessories like from power windows, seat covers, etc from my dealer except the car music system which is still pending.

I also enquired with my Maruti Dealer. The prices are higher with the dealer as compared to other outside car accessories providers. However the dealers tells me that I have a choice and there is no force that I get the Car Audio from him only. The only crux is that I shall loose the entire electric system ( ECM!!!!!!!????? ) warranty if the circuity is cut or breaked while fitting the music system which normally is the case when done from outsiders since they donot have the authorized version of the music system which Maruti provides with some additional features which are not found if purchased from eleswhere and they donot do socket to socket joint so in any case alteration will be there and I shall lose the entire car electric system warranty. Further Maruti does has tie up with Sony, Kenwood and JVC only.

Dear friends please guide what I should be doing since I am in a dilema.

Regards

Dear Kunjan,

There is no cutting of wires involved in getting a music system fitted. It is all additional wiring which is done on sockets provided in the car itself - so, be rest assured that there are no wires which are cut to the effect of making your warranty Void. See to it that you go to a good accessory shop. The car actually has a socket provisioned for the music system - dealers (some of them) scare the hell out of new buyers by claiming such things but, nothing can make the warranty Void if the system is fitted properly using the sockets provided in the car itself. The speakers are connected to the headunit by a different set of wires what they fit.

Comming back to the system itself, I suggest you can go for Pioneer P5050UB model (available in grey market) and JBL speakers - they make a very good combo and deliver excellent output.

Regards,

K Prasad

do not worry about the warranty being void as every music system comes with a specific wiring harness. so the system can be easily mounted without cutting or modifying any of the existing wires. so that shouldn be a problem as long as the installation is done at a proper place.

for a small car it is not essential to install a sub. though even if you do it will be cool, if you can live with that volume id say go ahead. try to avoid sony subs or amps as the amp heats up really fast. i would suggest a blaupunkt velocity sub and amp kit. around 15k. but for the wagon r a sub and amp are not needed

Hi Kunjan,

Do you have the wiring details you used to install the CDX-GT470U player? I was trying the same but could not get hold of the wiring details.

Thanks in advance,

-rajiv.
