Hyundai Santa Fe is available in US in 3 variants costing USD 21K to 26 K that translates approx. to 8.5 L to 10.5 L.  Santa Fe is one of the bestsellers in US and the main reason for its phenomenol success is its low price.  Hyundai is expected to keep similar price tags in India.  Unless , of course, they are looking for another failure on thier hands after Terracn and Tucson.  If they keep these price tags, this will be a bestseller in India too.

Agree Hyundai should consider pricing else will not survive the competition.

Why not Hyundai plans to manufacturer a SUV in India to keep cost low as 10-13 Lac. At 20+ Lac it is very expensive while approx. 50% are duties. Why any one company don't understanding the potential of SUV in India if they maintain low price. Harendra Saini

We currently own the Tucson... and its damn low on features... at bloody 20 Lacs on road, the damn thing doesn't even have climate control and remote locking... features that have now become standard in even 5-6 lac cars.... We really feel robbed. But the handling is good and with US 5 Star safety rating, the car is a good one at the end of the day. So, I feel if they give The Santa Fe a lot of features and maintain the safety rating and price it below 20 Lac on Road.... It should help matters.. Afterall Hyundai is no Honda or BMW....

Mr.Sonu Sharma do you know something you're an idiot.how can u predict about a car when u do not know anything about it.Hyundai Santa Fe costs 21K to 26K USD in US but when we convert it in rupees the 10.7lacs but you don't know shipping costs, certain duties, taxes have to be paid which bring the total around 22Lacs.If  u cannot afford it and if you're a beggar you should not say anything that is unappreciable,

Hyundai started their operations in India on a sound footing. Offering the best value for money cars. Remember they gave the 1st CRDI engine car for below 7 Lacs (Accent CRDI). The Santro became a hit. Their success went over their head & they started overcharging the Indian Customers for their imports(cost of Sonata, Elantra, Terracan & Tucson). The Indian customer paid back in the same coin. Result: All those models failed to make an Impact. The Hyundai's if they manufacture and sell the H1 MUV in India, cost approx 8-9 Lac INR (if manufactured in India), innova, Tavera, scorpio etc would have to run for cover.
