the scorpio is close to 50k more than the grande but its more powerfull than the grande. the grande comes with 2.2 Turbo charged Dicor engine( same as safari 2.2) while the Scorpio comes with 2.6 CRDe engine. Scorpio also generates more torque but lesser power than the grande. both use the common rail diesel principle. so performance of the vehicles can be judged only on engine capacity, power and torque. also as the grande has a smalled engine as compared to the scorpio it should be returning better fuel efficiency.braking for the scorpio should be better as compared to the grande as it uses the Twinpot & Tandem Booster. the space in the grande would be less as compared to the scorpio as the wheel base is less and the overall length also is less. width wise also the scorpio is better as compared to grande.

Features in the grande are much more than the scorpio. i would like to list a few for which the grande has more advantage than the scorpio:-immobiliser,steering adjustment, front fog lamps,cd player etc.

The ride quality of the scorpio according to me would be better than the grande as sumo has the same engine as the safari and it is said to have lot of vibrations. but if the company has changed the engine mountings and improved the NVH characteristics of the sumo then i guess you can go ahead for the sume.

so as far as space and engine are concerned the scorpio wins hands down but i guess in features, pricing and fuel efficiency the grande would score above the scorpio. take a test drive of both cars and then decide

Why break rules when following them is much easier!!!
