More people would join the 'common man' group because of the increased prices Smile

Jokes apart but it would be difficult to predict the long term effects because the international prices are comparatively low but still prices are being increased. So this could be to pull the oil firms of their losses and once the losses equal out they could reduce the prices but we cannot be sure of it because prices in India seem to be using a vehicle without a reverse gear - they just go up and never come down. So all we can do is wait and watch. but on thing is for sure that the pressure on the government for better public transport would be very high as many people now would hope to use them than drive themselves. Hope to see some serious development on that front

That's quite informative. Thanks centaur.

looks like days of the horse carts and bullock carts are right around the corner, the only difference being that the wooden carts would be replaced by completely built cars something like this-

Dont worry Sri, technology is there but they are implementing slowly once they are out of stock with oil, I think we would not be in a state to go with horses.

Electric cars are the option. Never in human history did we go back to the past. Thats the nature when we think of past that makes us go ahead in the future, we plan for future thinking about the past.

Thats a real good statement there, full of optimism. Seems to be straight out of a Hollywood flick Wink

Very Smart move by the govt. I am sure the price will continue for another 6 months and the fluctuation again starts. When we have elections around the corner, the govt shows that they are taking the burden and want people to enjoy and reduce the price back by Rs 3 or Rs 4. Common Man would be more than happy.

I am on a driving spree now. I will drive as much as i want to so that i don't crib about that when the price go that high. I still remember getting 3ltrs of petrol in my scooty for Rs 100/- when i was in school. Infact, i used to get back Rs.5 as change
