ya we r still paying da same..as da minister told in lok sabha..he sai ki still da 3 major companies are facing huge losses deapite da international price coming down..but da losse has decresaed considerably..but he said if we low down da fuel on airlines den da tax etc will be born by da common man..if dey leesen fuel prices da taxes etc will be born by airlines companies..which are already facing exorbitant fuel surcharges.... so dey are making oil companies losses lesser..well, i hope as da centre elections are due next yr,da ministry will lower da fuel prices..no matter how much loss dey are bearing..

And here's some good news for all of us. Reducttion in petrol/diesel effective today!!

Petrol prices cut by Rs 5, diesel by Rs 2 per litre

The government on Friday announced a Rs 5 and Rs 2 a litre interim cut in petrol and diesel prices, respectively, in a move that will  help put the lid on inflation and foster economic growth.

Indicating that further cuts were in the offing, Petroleum Minister Murli Deora told reporters after a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs that today's reduction was an "interim measure" and that the government would continue to watch the global prices of crude oil.

Even I dont think there would be rate cut unless the crude remains stable and rupee appreicates.

And here is some more very interesting piece of information. Oil prices apparently have been steady near $39 a barrel in Asia! Does this mean we would be seeing one more round of petrol/diesel price cuts?

Oil steady near $39 as investors eye bad US news

Oil prices were steady near $39 a barrel on Wednesday in Asia as investors digested more bad economic news from the US in thin Christmas Eve trading.

Light, sweet crude for February delivery rose 12 cents to $39.10 a barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange by midday in Singapore. The contract fell overnight 93 cents to settle at $38.98.

A steady stream of dismal US economic and corporate news during the last few months has hammered investor confidence and sent oil prices reeling 74 per cent since July.

even mine will be lighter, because i have to maintain 2 !!

atleast i have a combination of a diesel & petrol, so that we can use a diesel vehicle daily, that will save some money for us !!.

i think very soon, may be 2015, we should expect petrol to touch Rs, 100/ ltr & diesel Rs. 70/ltr
