Not known as yet.  Fiat India Automobiles Pvt Ltd., a Joint Venture between Fiat and Tata Motors, will manufacture Grande Punto (& Linea) at its Ranjangaon plant in India.

Grande Punto won the title ‘Carro Do Anno 2008” (car of the year) in Brazil in November 2007 and is amongst the European bestsellers in its class.

i guess price might just exceed 5.5 or the base version might start rolling on the road at a price below 6.2 lacks...

also i guess, FIAT might not give india the same car that one the car of the year at Brazil.... if they do that, ... that s gonna be great....

It's seldom so - it'll be manufactured separately for the Indian market / requirements.

Hello friends,

I have been constantly following some of Threads on carwale as i planning to buy my first car and this site gives me a lot of tips. Thanks to all.

I noticed that Vista Quadrajet is a very good car & even took a Test Ride of it & found it to be good car However i thought to hold back for some time as the Punto would be launched shortly.

Now my big confusion over here is that Fiat doesn't have a direct presence in India and are using the Tata Resources so won't it give a problem to the customer with respect to the availability of the spare parts and the after sales service for the Punto?? And what about the maintenance & the resale value of the Fiat cars?

Would appreciate if some of experts can share their views.

Pls note i m a newbie hence not so Technical

The Tata-Fiat tie-up is working/shaping fine. I don't think service & availability of spares of Fiat should be a matter of concern. Resale too is expected to improve.
