Wanted to Modify my first ever car - Matiz

Hi,
I bought Matiz in 2000 summer in Delhi . It has done about 73k . I have following challanges:
1. Engine gets heated up for reasons unknown ! I have shown it to many mechanics but this problem keeps cropping up in every two to three months of running. ( The average running is about 10kms daily). I have got so fed up with it that I have stopped driving it altogether . I have been given silly ideas like adding another fan to cool the engine down or get the computer checked up ..!

2. If the above problem gets fixed ( believe me I have shown it to various mechanics ) I need to modify my car with latest specs available . My budget is about 80K.

I need a repaint , a sun roof, alloy wheels, turbo charge , power windows and steering if possible. Can anybody help me with a known garage in Delhi which can do this for me ? and also on the appox. cost associated with such modifications.

It's not advisable to spend 80K on modification of a car that is not being manufactured anymore & spareparts of which are difficult to get.

I would suggest sell-off your car. I think you will get something in the range of 45K to 70K, depending upon the version of the car & its condition.

Add that 45/70K to the 80K that you were to spend on its modification, and buy another car.  You may, however, have to add more so as to get a good car (2nd hand) of your choice - say in a budget of Rs.2 lac.

In case that is not possible, I would suggest don't spend anything on modification of Martiz. Get it repaired & use it till you buy another car (new or 2nd hand).

Honesty is not a Spare Wheel that you pull out when in trouble. It's a Steering Wheel that keeps you on the right path throughout the life's journey.

hey did u chked delco...the capaciter of ur car i faced the same prob with my matiz and i changed delco with original delco and problem solved and now i use my car to cover 600 km from indore to Pune twice in a month and nothing came across till now after tht.

Could u please ellucidate it further.. what is a delco? what had gone wrong with it? how much did it cost you? etc.

I bought a 3rd hand Matiz SA 2001, the car has clockec 63K & is running without a noise !! Ive changed the oil to Castrol synthetic this time & seems the performance has got better than before.  I get 15+ Mileage within Poona city, which is grt.  Ive filled the AC gas & put new spark plugs.  No other expenses.. I just give for regular servicing & oil change.  Its a pleasure to own a Matiz!

As Rohit suggested u can clean the Delco cap.. I had faced a prob when the pressure wash fellow put water inside the delco once.. I got the cap opened & air-blown.. & the car was running like Maska.. firing is like Honda!

simply check two things

1 . It radiator is clean . cost of cleaning is 250 Rs

2 . Cover of coolant bottle when vehicle is hot , check whther coolant overflows through it . if yes change it with indica cover availble in market an confirm me
