Hello...
I am looking out for a replacement for my UNO Diesel. I have narrowed down my choice to Swift VDi & Getz PRIME CRDI.
Main Concern about Swift VDi is that it has a smaller engine - Fiat 1.2 L Jetronic Diesel(Compared to Uno's 1.7 L) &
GETz PRIME CRDI seems to be just the perfect replacement but I was surprised to know from  HYUNDAI Dealer that  not even a single GETz CRDI was available for Test Drive in Pune.
Also no time-frame was given as to when can I get one for test drive.
Hence I am really concered about the after sales and services of this car (I have never used a Hyundai Car before)
Request all of you to kindly advise.

Imp:
(My UNO has Clocked 55000 kms in 9 yrs and still is running with original set of tyre-tubes). Uno's strong built & 1.7 L powermill is really addictive and hence am really confused about a replacement. I am not looking out for Diesel economy but I just love the Diesel "PUNCH" and hence not considering any Petrol upgrade.)

If you want a good value for money Diesel small car i would prefer you to go for the Swift VDi

If you want more Grunt and Power go for the Getz CRDi

But i feel Swifts Power is good enough , and you should go for it

Cheers,

Sri

  1. Swift VDi (Rs.5.24 lac) has 1248 CC engine (1.3 ltr) that generates power of  75ps @ 4000rpm & torque of 190nm @ 2000rpm.
  2. Getz Prime GVS CRDi (Rs.5.98 lac) has 1493 CC engine (1.5 ltr) that generates power of 110ps @ 4000rpm & torque of 235nm @ 1900rpm.

Looking to your choice & the punch you want, Getz will definitely be a better choice.  Besides, it is more spacious & comfortable than Swift.

Hello All,

Thanks for your replies.

Finally have decided to book a white SWIFT VDi this week.

I would have been more happy to choose a car after test driving both GETZ PRIME CRDI & SWIFT VDi. but could not get GETZ test drive till the end.

Just would like to share with you all - a very strange experience about HYUNDAI MOTORS in Pune.

I had gone to HYUNDAI SHOWROOM in Januray enquiring about GETZ PRIME CRDI. Surprisingly I could not get even a leaflet for the same. Also I was told that no vehicle was available for test-drive.

I  found this very strange and hence contacted HYUNDAI  (On Web) as to why not even a single car could be made available for a test drive from so many HYUNDAI showrooms in the city.

I got quick response from HYUNDAI(Bangalore) but all in vain (as reply was no different  - that "presently no dealer in your city has a car available for test drive")

I got many phone calls from HYUNDAI there after but even in 2-3 weeks, Test Drive could not be arranged.

I had a phone call 2 days back from Pune showroom asking about a Test Drive (But I was out of town) and hence the person agreed to call me on Saturday(Today). Today again there was the same problem that the 'only test drive car' available in the city had disappeared.

With such a pathetic response received from the company over a month, I decided not to go in for their product and hence made up my mind to choose a Maruti Product where service was never an  issue (For both my Maruti Cars, I have received fabulous service from Wonder Cars,Pune).

Was this a problem restricted to Pune Only ??? Or the car was not available because GETZ may be coming out with a lesser powered 1.2 L or 1.3L new CRDI engine .... I failed to understand.

Would appreciate comments from other GETZ PRIME CRDI owners . . . .

Amit, the problem is with Hyundai network & due to non-availability of sufficient no. of cars.  Such a problem is faced here in Gujarat also.

Anyway, cheers for Swift VDi  you booked/bought - it is a good car.  I think you will have to wait for a couple of months for delivery.
