@Srinivasan , i feel the Scorpio M Hawk would be  a better buy , instead of going for ordinary Scorpio CRDe 2.6 , go for Safari 2.2 Diesel Base version

So hence i would prefer the Scorpio M hawk followed by Safari 2.2 and then Scorpio CRDe 2.6

Cheers,

Sri

Scorpio, in my opinion is better than Safari.  So, I suggest in this order: M Hawk, Scorpio CRDe 2.6 & then Safari 2.2.  Anyway.  Test drive all & go for the one that you are more comfortable with, and suits your preference & budget

Size doesn't matter here. Sumo is a MUV not SUV.

The new Sumo Grande is an SUV.  It's designed with interiors & features to come out of its image of a taxi.  It is felt that Grande will be preferred for personal/family use.  It is also said that it is going to give tough competition to other SUVs.  Anyway, we all will know better about it once it is actually launched.

rite, n safari is a SUV, trusted vehicle, some service issues from Tata but it depends on place to place, somewhere its too good but somewhere its not.

Safari is my choice, Scorpio...well beauty lies in the eyes of beholder, may be scorpio's resale value is slight better than safari but overall, safari looks better from outside as well as from inside.

Scorpio's a.c. is an issue too, once it starts troubling than... its worse.

My friend owns a Safari.  I  have driven it considerably (city & highway) - quite often till he was here, and have enjoyed it immensely.  Scorpio too I have driven a bit - a few times but long drives (including in city).  Both are good but the problem with Safari is regarding its drivability in city - it's too big, especially because of its wheels/tyres.  Therefore, I would recommend Scorpio, as one cannot rule out city driving.  And probably for this reason, Scorpio is more preferred/successful as compared to Safari.

But I'm not aware of its AC problem- can you please elaborate. Thanks.

Recent news is scorpio 2.6 engine will be discontinued by 2010 and mhawk is not a value for money.... Seriouly considering 2.2vtt because of the engine performance and other good features added by tata compared with mahindra

Safari 2.2 VTT DiCOR has 5 versions ranging from Rs.7.50 lac to Rs.11.60 lac.  What's your budget / which one would you prefer?
