Karan, running cost of Diesel is definitely lower than LPG.  Resale of Diesel cars are normally more than Petrol, as Diesel engines are more sturdy, powerful & have longer life than that of Petrol.

WagonR DUO LXi will cost Rs.3.93 lac while Swift LDi Rs.4.90 - a difference of almost Rs.1 lac.  DUO will give a mileage of 12/14 in city & 16/18 on highway while Swift LDi will give 16/18 in city & 20/22 on highway - depending on driving conditions & style.

Both these cars are good & fuel efficient.  Test drive & buy the one that suits your budget, preferences & usage.

The Diesel will be the Most economical to run and power too is much better than LPG , people who do more than 1250 kms a month its worth ,

the LPG in WagonR is good but LAcks space lik the Siwft , i still fee the DIESEL will be the BEST BUY altogether better as the resale is higher and it will be the same

cheers,

Sri

According to my calculation (statistics), Diesel cars are worth going for even if the run is as low as 700/800 kms per month.

I understand the LPG kit will cost you around 18/20K, and the mileage in Indica may be between 18 to 22 kms per kg depending on your drive (city/highway).  But you should consider this option only if your run is substantial.
