Thank you very much for your reply. I heard that the engine performance,  speed & pick-up is compromised with shifting to LPG. Kindly Advice further on this.

Currently my monthly usage is approx. 1600km/month in highway & approx 200km/month in the city of hyderebad. Petrol gves me an avg. of 14/lit in optimal conditions.

Pl also let me know some good quality LPG kits & if possible, lpg fitment center in hyderabad.

Yes, you will definitely be compromising on engine performance, speed & pick-up by going for LPG conversion.  But looking to your monthly run of 1800 kms, LPG would be much more economical than Petrol - no doubt about it.  You will soon get used to the change owing to LPG conversion (engine performance & all that).

Thanks again.

Any idea abt the lpg kit brands for 1405cc engine & good agents in hyderabad. Is 1KG of lpg equivalent to 2 litres of lpg. I think lpg is sold in litres.

thanks again

Honestly, as of now I'm not very conversant about LPG/CNG conversions (trying to acquire knowledge from Vidhur, a fellow member of ours).  However, as far as I understand, there are over 2 dozens LPG kit brands in India.  In the part I live, Gujarat, BRC (Italy) brand is popular & is said to be popular in other regions as well (irrespective of car & its CC).  It costs around 18/20K, as I have stated earlier.

1 kg LPG is equivalent to 1.66 ltr LPG.  Regarding mileage, as I understand, LPG doesn't improve the mileage of the car it reduces the running cost - for instance, if your Indica (Petrol) gives you a mileage of say 10 the running cost is Rs.5 per km (Petrol Rs.50 per ltr).  After conversion to LPG, it will continue to give the mileage of 10 but the running cost will reduce to Rs.3 per km (LPG Rs.30 per ltr).  The running cost will reduce further if you can refill through domestic cyclinder (14.200 kg), as it's cheaper and also because the density of kg is more than litre (1 kg = 1.66 ltr).

Regarding agents in Hyderabad, I'm sorry I do not have any information - hope some fellow member may be able to give some information.

LPG/CNG retrofitment requires registration of the same with RTO as well as with the Insurance Company.   If a Maharashtra registered car is to go for retrofitment in Gujarat, it has to be re-registered in Gujarat - or retrofitment be done in Maharashtra.

Regarding the mileage / running cost stated in my earlier post, I would like to elaborate a little further....  Domestic LPG Cyclinder costs Rs.320/- (in Gujarat) & the cost of refilling through it is Rs.40/-, i.e. the total cost is Rs.360/- for 14.2 kgs of LPG.  This 14.2 kg is equivalent to 23.5 ltrs of LPG costing Rs.705/- (@ Rs.30 per ltr).  The running cost of your Indica (Petrol) giving a mileage of say 10 will work out to only Rs.1.55 per km if refilling is done through Domestic LPG Cyclinder as against Rs.3 per km if LPG is refilled from a pump.  However, using domestic LPG cyclinder is illegal - though many manage to use it.

If your running is above 1100 Kms you can go for Recomnded LPG kits , it will help you to keep your running costs down

Cheers,

It's much more; 1800 kms per month (1600 on highway & 200 in city).  So, he should straightway go for the conversion.
