I am not sure how good an idea it is to use a SUV for daily commuting, with all the fuel it would guzzle and the amount of road space it would take. Specially if the number of people travelling is going to be usually less than four. But then that is a different topic altogether.

Sumo Grande would be a good buy in my opinion, it is much better and refined than the scorpio.

The other SUV in your budget would be Tata Safari 4x2 LX TCIC (7 seater).  It will cost Rs.6.59 lac (ex-showroom Mumbai).

The 2.0 ltr engine would generate power 90ps @ 4300rpm & torque190nm @ 3000rpm. It would give a mileage of 10/11 in city & 13/14 on highway - depending upon driving conditions & style.

Yes, Scorpio in my opinion too is better but Scorpio will cost above / outside the budget of Rs.7 lac - W  Turbo 2.6 LX version is priced Rs.7.30 lac.

Aren't Bolero & Quallis both out / now not available?
