Dedicated forum for car pooling

One thing Carwale could do is to create a new forum exclusively for people trying to car pool to work.   

In time you can make it a more sophisticated system to create and find car pool matches, but just a forum would be a start to explore the interest.

This is a pretty unorganized sector in India, whereas in other countries systems of carpooling are getting more and more sophisticated.

Carpooling is a very good idea, and specially in cities it makes a lot of economic sense aswell because of the spiralling costs of fuel and also the huge number of cars already on the road, it would help reduce that burden.
But carwale is probably not the place where people would look for pooling options. What carwale can do is promote carpooling habits among people with some of the other carpooling initiatives. I know of one such initiave called commuteasy (www.commuteasy.com). They are good and can help you look for people commuting on the same route as you or help you advertise your pool so someone else can join you and you can form a carpool. Give it a try !

Hi Anybody knows about good car pool web sites. Basically I drive from Vashi - BKC. Bascically looking for car pool members (upto 3) so that we can share some costs as well as do our bit for the environment!!!!
