Welcome to carwale Amal.

Before you go for a CNG?LPG retrofit would like to warn you of one thing. I recently read in one another thread where a member had said that Honda service centers refuse to service honda cars fitted with CNG/LPG. So you may want to check with your service center before you go for the retrofit.

Instead of LPG opt for CNG if you have to go for an alternative fuel. You can go for sequential gas injection kits. The power loss is very less in these kits. Also ensure that you get it done from an expert only.

What are the main complaints occuring while using Lpg or cng kits.will that completely damage the engine parts ,is that so carbon gets deposited inside the engine .i have already decided to convert it to cng or else sell my car no other option.please give your valuable suggestions.i was also heard taht t he resale value for the car will decrease on the addition of cng or lpg .wht is the reason behind that or is taht just a rumour.

if the kit is not fitted well there could be leakages at times but the chances are remote. Other things could loss of power, jerking of car and the likes.

CNG/LPG tends to lessen the life of an engine because they operate at a higher temperature than petrol/diesel. This tends to wear out the engine parts a bit earlier than their actual life.

Resale for an aftermarket retrofit does decrease and the reason is that it has been altered in someway. So many people tend to stay away from it. Nothing else AFAIK

I m looking for a used car, mostly Sedan and my favorite is OLD HONDA CITY. I got to see two Honda city, 2000 Automatic Transmission and 2003 manual Transmission. Price 2lac for both. But 2000 AT has done 85k km and the later has done 120k km, both looks beauty, don’t know about the maintenance, service and parts availability .
I need not take for daily ride to office. but have plans to take in the city and on Highways.
can any one suggest me about this or shall i look for a better one.

Guys,

I've been using a Type2 Honda City 1.5, 2002 make  since 2 years very happily. Used to get a incity average of 13.5, recently have been getting 10.5. Am wondering if you guys know any good CNG kit fitters in Andheri West.

The car has done around 55000kms, alternatively have been thinking of selling this beauty for about 3lac and buy a Corolla,

Any suggestions?

In any case I doubt if you will get 3 lacs for a 2002 honda city. You can get 2006-2007 honda citys for around 3 lacs. How much is your monthly usage? Let us know that and we shall suggest accordingly

Yes but i think there's a premium on well kept Type-2 honda citys.

Monthly usage is less than 1000kms.

thanks for your help.

Is this the dolphin nose one? Even a well kept 2002 city will not fetch 3 lacs or so. For less than 1000 kms dont go for CNG that too on such an old car. It will not be beneficial
