I've been looking for a new Ford Endeavour 4x4 in Bangalore, and the story keeps changing- earlier I was told that there is a 3-4 month wait, then the factory has shut down in December for some reason, etc. However, the latest I've heard is that model is being withdrawn from the Indian market and no more CKD kits are being brought from Thailand to India.

Has anyone else heard this? Looking at the Ford Everest site in Thailand (the source of the CKD kits), there is no 2.5L Ford 4x4 anymore- they only have a 3.0L variant there. Is Ford getting ready to introduce this model in India in 2008, or are they just pulling out the 4x4 completely?

Thanks,

Kabir

The endevour has Got a face lift very recently and dont think they will come up with a new model for a year or soo , the endevaour has been launched in Diesel engine too that is 4X4 TDCi ( turbo CRDi)

incase you are gong to buy endeavour soon i suggest you to wait as the Chevrolet is Coming up with Captiva and a diesel engine too and i am sure t will be better than the Fords ende

captiva is expected soon within 3 months and most porbably priced around 14 lakhs

cheers,

Sri

What about the Toyota Fortuner? There have been persistent rumors of it being introduced in India.

Hi,

I came to know from Cauvery Ford that Ford is not withdrawing Endeavour from the market but they are launching the 3.0L varient which is a high powered engine available from  mid Feb 2008. I have already booked for this and this has been confirmed by Mr, Jain of Cauvery Ford Bangalore.

Thanks Sri, I think the cost of Chevy Captiva ex-showroom is between Rs 17-18 Lakhs and on road it will be much higher than the Ford. This is the price quoted by CarWale site. Besides, the side profile looks almost like the new Honda CRV right?
