Performance of the engine is not like santro? or it is better than that?
But one thing is for sure that the fuel efficiency is great. It is right to wait to buy.

I believe that the Hyundais have a practice of experimenting first on models with ugly looks and then refining them to an extent that they turn out to be the best ones around. For instance take the case of Santro, which was introduced during 1999. The model looked very silly with round tail lamps, a very flat rear end, oval head lamps which resembled those of Mickey mouse eyes. Later they undertood the importance of looks in the mind of indian customer and came up with Xing with very appealing looks and functional equipments. The extent to which this model is succesful is well known to everybody.  Similar is the case of their premium saloon car, the Sonata. Earlier came the sonata with round head and tail lamps. The concept of having a pair of round dual head lamps was also introduced to the indian customer in thsi package. The front grille resembled and reminded us to those of Kapil Dev's long Teeths.  This ugly looking concept was later worked upon and a very stylish Sonata Embera is out there.

Similar is the case of the I10, with very ugly looks and concept. I am very sure that Hyundai will go back to their drawing boards very soon and work upon a very smart new concept I10 which will be a great hit on indian roads. For all those who are rushing to their nearby Hyndai showrooms I suggest them to wait for short period till Hyundai understands the ground relity and comes back with a reasonable machine.

How true!!!

I'm contemplating to buy an i10 in a month or two; any wild guess about the the time-frame for better designed i10 to hit the Indian road? Will the wait be worth it? I'm not exactly in any hurry.

Teflon coating for non metallic color is really not useful

the main feature of Teflon coating is to Preserve the shiny surface of the car

but still it will loook natural and good without teflon coating

cherrs,
Sri

I also dont think teflon is all a necessary thing.

As for the renewed looks, i think it is more to distinguish between the newer models and the older ones.

It get monotonus with the same design

Waiting period of 1-2 months!!! Hmmmm...that's quite a waiting for a car estimated to be produced @ 3,00,000 per year. Is the Hyundai still waiting for feedback from general public. If so then here's some of my observations and queries so far.

In almost all the aspects, i10 seems to be a complete improvement over Santro, that is to say, i10 has simply taken over from where Santro as has left. Ground clearence of  i10, however, has been reduced from Santro's respectable 172 mm to 165 mm. This, when the car is being projected as the one to be launched in India first and the rest of the world later (has the Hyundai forgotten abt India's pot-holed filled bumpy ride; and what about occasional off-roading in village roads). The GC of some of the other cars in B and B+ segment are: Spark = 170 mm, Palio Stile = 170 mm, Maruti 800 = 170 mm, Swift = 170 mm, U-VA = 188 mm, etc. etc. I don't know to what extent this reduction in 7 mm GC will affect the ride in bumpy roads, but one thing is for sure - every inch of GC reduced is certainly a negative development insofar as ride in bumpy roads are concerned.

With plush beige interiors, i10 has again set a new benchmarks for small car segment. But it is reported that beige interiors are more difficult to maintain as it gets dirty very quickly. Can the forum members kindly help me with some maintenence tips for its beige interior.

Also, is Abhi's claim that i10 comes with teflon coating correct?
