ya its true that there is no impact beam in the front, but how does it matter coz even if u hit something or meet up with an accedent the outer side will get damaged any way and u will have to fix it ...i personally bought the magna and i am telling u to go for it as it is the best car i hav ever had before..its just like the Mazda 929 that i had in southafrica...it is just a luxury car in a small version...the interirors are just awesome...just close ur eyes and go for the magna (elecric red)(non-mettalic) its better to spend a little more and get the best version where there are 4 pwindows with rear wiper and dfogger and also b/c bumpers and door handels...trust me its worth it..and done worry about the impact beams.

Regarding safety / impact beam/bar, I understand as under from discussions on other relevant threads...

It does not metal bar in the front.  Instead, it has two metal beams coming from side that holds the engine, radiator etc. The theory behind this design, as explained by a Hyundai dealer is that the design is specially meant for considering safety of passengers. In case of impact from front side, engine will get hit and will fall down & will not get pushed back towards the dashboard - so it will be relatively safer inside the cabin.

Dear All,

I am thinking to buy i10. Going through your forum came to know that there is a safety issue in case of front crash in i10. Want to know does Wagon R is more safer in that situation.

Also what is the expected mileage in the Bangalore city with 50% A/C on.

It cannot be said that there is a safety issue with i10 - unless there is some clarification from some technical person about the two metal beams coming from side instead of front metal bar.

Regarding mileage, i10 generally gives 13/14 in city & 16/17 on highway, and WagonR gives 14/15 in city & 17/18 on highway (all depending upon driving conditions & style).

Useful driving tips to get the best mileage in city for Swift or any car is to drive as steadily & smoothly as possible, use / drive in the right gear at the right speed, change the gears at the right speed & time & avoid unnecessary use of clutch & brake.  However, it all depends on traffic conditions

Regarding Alloy Wheels, the basis purpose is good & sporty looks.  However, good & light weight alloy wheels marginally/slightly help improve mileage, performance & braking.
