Alloy Wheels are basically for good looks.  Good quality ones that are lighter than the normal steel ones, slightly improve performance, mileage & braking.  A set of 5 may cost around 20/25K.

You are welcome Kapil , by the way get Which vairant did u say , get Xenos keyless entry for 4k rs it comes with life time replacement waranty , alloys is not all that advisable its mainly for looks , i would sugest you to upgrade your tyre size to the one configured in the ZXi which is broader and has meaty grip , the VXi, VDi , LXi and LDi comes with narroe tyres , better get the tyres broader

Cheers,

Sri

That's right. Broader tyres would definitely make sense. Couple of my friends who have LXI & VXI model have shared that sometimes on wet surfaces they have experienced that the default tyres do not provide enough grip. Narrow tyres are better from mileage perspective. But looking at safety (especially at slightly higher speeds & unfavourable road surface) wider tyres would definitely be better.

VXi & LXi - the suggestion applies for both.

Hi all

I just recieved my New I10 magna on friday. i bought the alpine blue colour...its really awesome...i was so excited that i didint even waste any time to put in the acceries..i live in calcutta so i will tell u the price that i paid for the individial products..

i got a sony explode streo that has front Usb capability...i think the model is 460US.its really cool and has 2 illiuminators...it costed me Rs 7000..

then i got 4 speakers...all of them installed in the door...the front ones are kenwood which cost me Rs1100 for 2 and the rear 2 sony exploed with inbuild tweeters costed me Rs 1700 so total came foe Rs2800.

then i got tinted windows as well...went for a light brown as per motor vehicle approved...it costd me abt 900/- as it was the one that was scrach free...

installed mud flaps for Rs 250

a cool streeing wheel cover forRs 300

then installed foot mats for Rs 500 (transperant ones)

Last but not least AUTOCOP ..its the one with ingition control etc..it cost me Rs 3500 .

so the total cost came to me arround 15000...+ the car costed me abt Rs 4,50,000 (approx ) on road TOTAL 465000

i had i ques regurding the auto cop to the moderators and of course the others too....the auto cop has a feature that locks all the doors after 5sec the ingition is on but also unlocks as well if the ign goes off....since this is a brand new card and the engine is not set yet...the car some times stops (ign) then the car instantly unlocks all the doors...this is really compromising on security..is there any way i can stop that or incresr the instat inlock to may be unlock after 1 min or 10 sec..will really appriciate if any one gives me the answer asap.

thanks.

In the first place, the engine should not switch-off.  It has nothing to do with new or old - it probably requires rpm setting at the optimum level.  Besides, I also understand (not sure) that during winter-mornings (especially when the temperature is low), the engine starts at slightly lower rpm & then within seconds rises to the level it has been set at. Anyway!

The 5 seconds delay in locking & unlocking is the default setting.  I think the delay cannot be adjusted (read the manual).  As such, it will not be required once your car stops getting switched-off.

One more thing I would like to point out is that steering cover is not advisable.  Steering is designed with thickness & grip to provide the best control.  If you drive with & without it, you will release the difference & would probably not go for the cover.  Besides, during summer, due to perspiration & humidity, cover doesn't give good grip - it tends to be slippery.

Anyway, congratulations for the purchase.  Have a happy & safe motoring.

thank u so much Pankaj sir for ur fast feedback..i hav read through the manual but it didnt say anything abt the unlock delay ..any way i will give autocop a call and find out...also i will have a talk with a hyundai  mech about the engine rpm optimiser....thanks so much about ur thoughts of the streeing wheel cover....the i am using it because during the summer the heat really burns the streeing and becomes very hard to hold ...but i will try to remove it as it is a stitched version..

thanks once again sir for ur prompt feedback

Anisin (plz address me Pankaj - no Sir & all that),

In the meantime, I had enquired with my local accessory shop - he said the time delay cannot be adjusted.  Anyway, please check with the Autocop - that will be better, I suppose.

Regarding steering cover, I would like to add that, notwithstanding what I have suggested earlier, there are many who are comfortable with it. So, drive the car (considerably) with & without it & decide.  But I would always suggest against it for the reasons explained before.  Heating of steering wheel is there only if the car is parked in sunlight - as such, you can place some napkin over it to avoid the problem.

I request if you could revert & post here whether you could ultimately set the delay time of Autocop, or not.  It would be beneficial to others. Thanks.
