Besides having better interiors & features, it also looks cuter & smarter than WagonR, Estilo, Santro etc. - and that (looks) matters a lot.

Yes in an auto show on TV it was judged as the best car in this segment if you are not much concerned for the price factor as it is a 30-40k expensive in its segment

Yes Saroj, I agree.  Besides, 30/40K is not a big amount these days for people who can spend Rs.4 to 5 lac for a car & especially for a car like i10, which has a status of its own due to its cute/smart looks & decent interiors & features.  I personally feel this car will soon be popular amongst professional/ higher service class people who are status concious & love to own good & decent things/cars that enhance their status in turn.

You are right Pankaj,
With the present car buyers, 40k does not make much of a difference.

Hi Ppl,

I am plg to buy an i10 this year , if possibl, before Jan. Any idea which way the prices will go in 2008? I believe they mite rise, n i10 is one car where as of now no dealer is offering any discounts or freebies.

I've decided on the Era version, as Magna is not in my budget. Any suggestions for additional features which i shud go in for? i feel it is quite well equiped n the specs luk gud, but its my 1st car n i'm luking for advice. Sum ppl say d swift is anyday better, any comments??

I'm taking a metallic one, is teflon coating needed? Does tyre upsizing result in a smoother ride? My dad has a severe back problem and if any additional feature wud ease jerks n bumps, i wud like to go in for it....

plz lemme know........

As I understand price of i10 will not rise in January 2008, as is likely for other cars, as i10 has been recently launched & is already priced 30/40K higher as compared to other cars in its segment.  Discounts are not likely to be offered on i10 as of now, as it is in demand and also for the fact that no price rise is envisaged as in other cars.

All the versions of i10 have good interiors & features.  No addtional feature is required - just buy the version that suits your budget.  Wheel upsizing & teflon coating are also not required in my opinion.

Regarding its comparison with Swift, Swift (LXi) will cost Rs.4.15 lac while i10 (Era) will Rs.3.90 lac.  Swift is more powerful car than i10 in terms of CC, power & torque.  Mileage of Swift is 11/12 in city & 15/16 on highway, while of i10 is 13/14 in city & 16/17 on highway - depending on driving conditions & style.  Wheel size (as you are concerned) of Swift is 14" while of i10 is 13".  Features & interiors of i10 is better than Swift - i10 (Era) will come with Power Windows, Central Locking & Steering Adjustment whiel Swift (LXi) will not.  Besides, i10 is quite spacious & comfortable while Swift is not especially in the rear seats.

All in all, I personally feel i10 will be a better & economical car for you with better interiors & features.  Besides, i10 looks cuter/smarter than Swift.

Swift VXi, as compared to LXi, costs approx. 30K more.  It comes with additional features of Power Windows, Central Locking, Tachometer & Front Fog Lights.  Performance, Mileage & Power are all same.

i10 (Era) has one addtional feature than VXi, i.e. Steering Adjustment. i10's Interiors are better than VXi also.

Yes, very true, and most of the people would choose so (suitably) between the two cars.
