Santro Zip Plus Engine oil advice:

I own a Santro zipplus LP 2003 model car. Its  been more than 10,000 Kms since last engine oil change.

I would like to know the following:

1) Recommended standard engine oil for Santro.

2) Quantity required.

3) Approximate cost for oil, oil filter & Labor.

I intent to get it done in a  local garage.

SAE ratings: 15W40, 20W40 or 20W50

Grade: Multigrade or semi-synthetic. 100% synthetic can be used too, but I don't know if it is available in above SAE ratings, plus it will be a lot more expensive too.

Quantity reuired: 2.5 to 3 litres (3.1 is what the manual states).

Cost: About Rs. 600-700 for multigrade/semi-synthetic depending on brand, 900+ for 100% synthetic oil, oil filter = Rs. 80-100, labour will be some 150-250 bucks.
