Has Maruti understood the beige importance? (First in the new Dzire and now in the A-Star). And also what are the further updates you wish?

Looks good and these changes are definitely welcome but I think it would be more better if they can improve on the boot space a bit. That would make it a preferred choice for many IMO

Sridhar,

Why don't you come over to Delhi ask Maruti for New A Star for test drive and review. We can prepare a detail review and compare with competitors which will benefit new comer or 1st time owners

I can join you.

Just weard idea. Give it a thought.

Assuming that you serious here

There are 2 problems -

1. I unfortunately cant come to Delhi because of work and family related commitments

2. Does Maruti give cars like that for test drives/road test/ reviews?

Nice way to give it a beige touch. But if quality is similiar to the estilo, then it will worsen the situation! The car lacks space in the rear and a proper boot, as mentioned. That is a major selling point in the indian market. The automatic version does deserve some appreciation for its practicality. Even under flat out conditions, we got around 11kpl, which its competitor, the i10 fails to deliver. Numbers will improve, but slowly and by a moderate extent, IMHO. Ot, but car manufacturers invite media persons for a preview of their launches, covering the expenses. However, for people like us, its just the dealer test drive. You will be offered a car if you tel the dealer you would be writing about it in the internet

Sridhar,

I have seen car companies calling experts for review of their cars even before public launch to get the feedback with all the expenses covered.

I am serious about it. We will have to write to Maruti's senior management about the comprehensive testing of their newly upgraded A Star.

Sanklap, you have made a valid point but lets try this, if it works well, we will have a very good review of the car's capabilities, realtime FE, drive, confort, handling, breaking and safetyfeatures.

This will have two advantages;

1. Maruti will get good feedback about the car, review in a reputated auto magazine, and

2. Prospective buyers will get the actual picture about the pros and cons of the car.

Or else we can talk to the dealer about the publishing the review but approaching Maruti directly will be a better option

Let then try and contact Maruti. I believe you must be having some contacts with Maruti management. If its difficult for you to come to Delhi, then you can do the review in your place but at the moment we need to contact Maruti

Unfortunately I dont have any contact with Maruti. Am just like you when it comes to that but there is no harm in trying. The core carwale team anyway reviews new cars time and again. So we should get a review from them soon
