Hi

A 14 inch tyre requires a 14 inch alloys.And 15 inch tyre requires a 15 inch alloys.

So 195/60 R15 will require a 15 inch alloys.

hi bijo and mr bhardwaj and other experts,

i have just finalized to buy UVA base model which has Goodyear 155/80 R13 tyre and would like to upgrade to 185/60 R14 which i hope should not give any technical problem since same set is fixed on its top end model with same engine. My query is would the wheel and tyre shops exchange them and give a price benefit.

please suggest me which are some of the good brands of 14" alloy wheels and estimate price since for a fresher (though i have been driving for 10 years but never bothered to change the standard wheels of my maruti) Will this upgrade affect the drive and performance of the car.

looking forward to your helpful reply.

Hi

Check this link it will help u while taking delivery.

http://ndtvauto.carwale.com/forums/ViewThread-9353.html

An ideal upgrade for the swift would be 185/60 R14 as it is avaliable on the Aveo Uva 1.2 LT.

You will have no techinical problems and also warranty wont be void.

Here are few options

Energy XM1+ - 25% longer and saves fuel.

Dimension Load index Speed index Specification Price
185/60R14 82 H   4775

Pilot Preceda PP2 - Ultimate sport performances with maximum safety in the wet

Dimension Load index Speed index Specification Price
185/60R14 82 V   4925

Definetly there will be a difference in drive and performance of the car.

The car handling , performance , breaking , high speed stability and looks.

Millage might be reduce by .5 km per lt.

In the alloy wheels u can go for aura or apollo as they provide replacement warrant and are branded

Note Have the instillation done at good wheel allignment shop.

you can ONLY use 15" alloy wheels for any 15" tyre.. In your case 195 60 R 15. You can go for a wheel (size 15 x 6J) 6 is the width of the alloy wheel in inch. and preferebly an offset of 20 to 35. Choose from brands like Aura, Neo, Apollo Wheelz, League, Plati ...etc. (the last two are imported and the rest are indian brands)

Hi,

Is it possible to replace the R15 TYRES WITH R 14 TYRES AND VICE VERSA. I sold my Honda and now have a Corolla. While my Honda had 185 65 R15 TYRES, for my Corolla, it is 185 65 R14. Hence this question.

No this switch cannot be made.

Tyres and rims should be of the same size.

Hello,

Could anyone please let me know what are the implications of going for a higher radius wheel from existing R13 to R15.  I intend to replace the existing 175/70 R13 with 205/50 R15 in my honda city 1.5 exi model 2000.

Would it affect the performance of the car in terms of mileage or handling?   I know the wider tyres would reduce the mileage by 1-2 km. But what would be the effect of increased radius?

Does the speedometer / odometer need any re-calibration?

How good are the "Plati" & "League" brands for alloy wheels? Are there any other good brands apart from these two?

Thanks

varinder
