Looking for new diesel car. Shortlisted Manza New Aura (ABS) Quadrajet and Etios VD. Confused with which one to go for. Etios is better with Toyoto quality and name but lot many features are missing when compared to Manza New Aura (ABS) Quadrajet. Manza is offering much more features for the almost same price?

Can any one share their expirences with these two models? also, advice which one is better in overall performance

Thanks in anticipation

Personally speaking I do not like the interior of Etios. It is just 68 BHP against 90 BHP of Manza. The quality of interior is not that great in Manza, but definitely look eye pleasing compared to Etios. You are going to sit in the car and I believe you must like the interior of the car. It is very hard to ignore the Toyota brand and it's engine, but the engine of Manza is also tried and tested, nationally and internationally. The only thing where Etios scores over Manza is ASS and Resale. Now you have to decuide what you wanted in your car.. All the best.

Bhavin has actually nailed it.

If you ask me, I'm not very impressed by Etios. Also, remember that Etios is designed / built for the Indian market and hence there would be a lot of cost cutting. The legendary Toyota quality / workmanship of the other models may also not be available, though I'm yet to find anyone cursing the Etios.

Feature wise, Manza offers a lot. But then, you will find a lot of people cursing the Tata ASS.

If you want the additional features and can live with the odd bad experience at the ASS, then go for the Manza.

Unfortunately, after the ETIOS and LIVA have come in - there is not much to speak about the Toyota ASC. Its now swarming with small cars and the workshops are bursting at the seams. This was expected and Toyota now badly needs increase the number and bandwidth of the ASC's.

Pankaj,

Its actually a very difficult choice as Bhavin & Anand mentioned.

I will suggest you to take a TD of both the cars & see which car you like more.

I would have gone for Manza since I have been using TATA cars for close to a decade now (Indica V2, Indica DLS & now Indigo CS TDI). I am more or less satisfied with the car, its ASS needs to improve though. It has been a diesel all through, but diesel cars are a bit more expensive to maintain comapred to petrol units, so why blame TATA.

Maruti, Hyundai or Ford diesels are expensive to maintain too.

I will not be able to comment on the Toyota ASS since I have never experienced it myself.

BUT, price & features which TATA is offerring is mouth watering & I will compromise a lil to get a hand on those.

Good luck

Thanks Manish. I fact, I have the same feeling when I compared the cost vis-a-vis features offered. Somehow, I am also not convinced with the VFM factor when looked at Etios, except for Toyoto brand value. On overall consideration, I feel that its too early to look at "resale value" factor for Etios since the model itself is too young in the market. Generally, this is the factor where Tata cars are blamed ...Smile
