Accessories needed for new car !!

Hi all,

My new Swift Vdi would be coming soon, my dealer always tells me that I would need 

Rs 25000 for accessories. First of all that amount is too much for me.

Secondly I 'm confused whether to take accessories from showroom or from some

car zone or Reliance autozone.

Also I would like to know what accessories are really needed and what are optional

on the day of delivery of my car.

Please provide your valuable inputs. 

There are no must have accessories! It all depends on you, whether you would like to add them or no. Drive for a while and then decide what you would like.

How is Reliance Autozone ?

You can go for after market accessories. As Chaand said, it depends on what you want to install. where are you located???

reliance autozone is costly but cheaper than showroom. also, get a list if the accessories & tgeir cost from the showroom which they are sayiing would cost for 25k & list them here so that we can guide you.

Actually my requirements are a good sun film, seat covers and best quality stereos with Subwoofers(Please suggest me)

ideally you should negotiate with the showroom salesguy for at least some accessories in a complimentary manner.

The rest will have to be be funded by you.

In Mumbai the cheapest location for car accessories is Charni Road. In blr, its JC road. You should be having such a place in your location as well. Go to a few shops and obtain the costs. That should give you a fair idea vis-a-vis Reliance autozone.

One of my friend had gone for after market accessories, we took the delivery in morning & directly took the car (swift vxi) to the shops.

Sun Film: Garware sun film for windows & rear glass:: 3M film for front glass:: TOTAL Rs. 3000. Garware is manufactured by an Indian company and is of good quality, i think it is a cheaper option of 3M & is a  good option.

Seat covers were Rs. 4000 for leatherite

Music system was pioneer with JBL speakers in front & Infinity sepakers at back :: cost Rs. 20,000. The cost would depend on what type of speakers you want. The mouth of music system would start from 4000 & go up. A decent pioneer would cost you 5500. Speakers are your choice.

I think the dealers keep on insisting to procure accessories from them. What I understood is that,if one is making any alternation to the electrical circuit to fit an accessories like fog lamp,music system, remote central lock etc, it is better to do that at dealer as that do not harm the warranty, other accessories like seat cover, etc should be purchased from out side, as the after market shops are cheaper and with a close look, one can get genuine brands.
