HI All,

I have one more addition to my list, Mahindra Verito! I am not very much concerned about its cab image. What matters for me is a VFM car.Just now i read the carwale members reviews of Verito. The car gives 21+ mileage and very spacious. My main requirements!. What ever car i buy i am planning to keep it long term(atleast next 5 years)

I know its in different segment, but i think i will get some version of it in my budget 6-7 laks. One of my friends is working in one of the mahindra showrooms in bangalore, i hope i will get good price quote from him!. I will take his opinion as well.

I hope it is OK for city ride as it is very big car! Any comments?or suggestions?

i think verito is a vfm car. spacious and should be ok to mainntain cost wise considering the cabs running in Bangalore.

More comfortable for 5 adults than even the i20. I once sat in the back seat in my friends Logan - petrol. Good interiors too.

in the city, any big sedan/hatch will be difficult to drive compared to say a Nano or 800. Check the power steering smoothness and response. It will be very difficult if it is stiff and needs more turning.

I think it is not as powerful as the competition (Dzire, fiesta others?). Do a detailed TD. Considering you have a friend in the showroom, you should get better support from the ASC I hope.

Is Verito still linked with Mahindra? I thot Renault had come away from the Mahindra JV (??).

Verito is from Mahindra. The one that came out of the JV of Renault-Mahindra was the Logan

thanks Centaur. I got it twisted. Verito is Mahindra andnot Renault as I thot.

In this case, is the verito any different from the previous logan (other than cosmetic and features.). Like engine and other parts?

Hi Arun,

Yeah centaur is correct, its the same Logan with some changes.

Today i went to the showroom, its really big car with 510 liters boot space. After seeing the car i too had a feeling if it is easy to drive in city!.I did not get a chance to test drive it was not available for test drive.

I will test drive on monday and will come to a conclusion. Before that i would like to listen from any Logan users about how comfortable it is to drive in city?

Hi everybody,

I am returning to the discussion board again after almost finalising for Ford Figo ZXi. One of my very close and good friend suggesting me to go for Indigo eCS LX CR4 instead of Figo, as in Assam, Ford service center are only few, may be hardly 3, where as TATA has service centre at every 100 km or less distance.

Also Tata maintenance is less than Ford. Now I'm confused again as I want to go for a diesel car within 6.4lacs, a VFM car, I had finalised these two and then got inclined to Figo, now again thinking which one, KINDLY HELP ME CHOOSING ONE AMONG THESE TWO.

HI Al,
Iam planning to sell my Spark and purchase one of the below cars:

1)Tata Manza (diesel)
2)Verito(diesel)
3)Tayota Etios(diesel)

I travel 1200-1500 km per monthin city to office. And occasional long trips.Once in two months.
Looking for spacious car with good leg room and boot.Good mileage and decent performance.
Usually i drive no more than 90km on high ways.WE are 4 adults and a kid in my family

Also i want good city car out of the above three.

Etios has Lot of Quality control issues reported in some threads. Please let me know if they are rectified by Tayota?

Thaks in advance

I had same expectations as yours. After three months of analysis n reading various reviews, i have decided to go for verito.... u can consider manza too... u can check for verito executive in particular since it has improved interiors(Again very limited colors)...

Etios comes with excellent pick up and performance but at the cost of light weight. It is one of the lightest sedan - weighs less than a Swift hatchback too

But comes with loads of space, boot and reasonable mileage

But has the following shortcomings due to cost cutting measures to have that "Toyota" badge

- noisy engine

- poor plastic quality

- single wiper

- poor noise insulation

- no gaskets on the doors and hence dust penetration even in closed car

Verito and Manza make better sense to go instead of Etios

Etios is more like a nano version at the sedan level, but the customers who are buying a nano are graduating from a two wheeler or auto and buying the nano - who can accept the compromises for the lwer price they pay. The buyers in that segemnt could be very price sensitive too

But a sedan buyer is someone who has decided to shell out 6to 7L on a car and why should he be penny foolish to buy a car like Etios just for the space and boot and probably Toyota badge compromising on several factors - when one can buy a car with luxurious feel for the same price in a Dzire or Manza
