Dear all,

I have Maruthi Zen Estilo VXI-2007 model and used for 70000 Kms. Now my monthly driving is going to be @ 1300kms. I need a car for another 2-3years only. I am confused whether I should go for seconde hand car or should go for new one. I have to go for sedan car only. My budget is @ 400,000 plus resale value of my car. I would be of great help if any one could guide me.

Thanks in advance.

Hegde

Hello and welcome to carwale family.

Personally, would advise new cars as you dont want to get into a mess of going to mechanics now and then every time, for next 2-3 years, the time you want to have the car. Not that all used cars are having issues, but yes, most of the used cars have some or the other issue and hence are sold as used cars.

You have quite a good budget to buy a diesel hatchback. But if looking for loan, then would recommend to go for diesel sedan. Please do share more information like, number of people travelling, frequency of travelling with and without family, your personal preference about any car, to help you further on selecting the best car for you.

Cheers

Thanks for your warm well come.

Here are further details.

No of people travelling - 4 or 5

Frequency of travel - Once/twice in a week. But I need a large boot space when I visit home town with family. This is twice in a year.

Personal preference : Not so specific. I need more legroom since I am tall!

Cheers

The first thing that comes into my mind is Verito. Much into your budget, diesel sedan, good legroom, can easily carry 4-5 adults, biggest boot space in its segment. So do look forward to it.

You have many other options in sedan - Manza, Linea, DZire, Sunny, Fiesta, Verna, etc. However, the price ranges from 6-10 lakhs. So you need to be more specific about budget and ofcourse personal choice. If nothing yet then may be its the time to have one

I would advise to do a Test Drive of all these cars with family and have opinion from all of them. Am sure you will end up buying the best car for you. And ofcourse we are here to clear any doubts you have while being the process of searching and buying the car.
