By the way Pavan...There is another car which is quite compact and sporty, however again I am not sure about its availability in seconds market (specially Bangalore). San Storm, which is a 2-seater convertible. However the car is now only manufactured in Goa, and its original production base (Bangalore) is closed long ago.. So doubt the ASS and maintenance aspect of it in Bangalore....just my 2 cents for you to decide if it suits ur style...

PS: Note that Storm is not as per its name in terms of performance as it comes with ~60HP renault engine...however given its fiber body, it should be having better PTW ratio.

San storm , as with the case of Toyota Sera looks stylish. But you know problem arises with regards to maintainence.

I've finally narrowed down to Honda city 2003 vtec

Thank you everyone for the advice. Now its time to research..

If we talk about sedan then Honda City is best sedan to buy but in this range I must suggest hatchback cars like Hyundai i10, Maruti Swift etc.

Hello everyone . Well,  I'm planning to buy a pre-owned Sedan within 4Lakhs. So I need some advice from you guys, please. The list of my requirements.

-Budget not more than Rs.3,85,000
-Since, Ill be turning 20years in a month, the car must suit college guy like me & convenient to drive.
-Fuel efficiency more than 9kmpl would do good

The list of cars I've had as an option are:
-2002\'03 [ Type 2] Honda City
-Skoda Octavia
-Mitsubishi Lancer 2001 model
-Toyota Sera.

-Well, Initially Diesel car has been my top priority and I considered to opt for Octavia. Since my dad owns Laura 1.9Tdi, its quite high on maintenance. So I ruled out Octavia. If there are other Sedan's as per my requirement. Pl list them for me.
-Honda city type-2 is a cool car & definitely suits me & I'd be very proud to be a owner of Honda than Mitsubishi because ofHonda's history . Anyways, one thing that discomforts City-2 is that it's Petrol. I mean, I like Diesel more particularly because of its engine sound & power. Hence, I thought of incorporating exhaust & K&N filter if I buy City-2.
-Toyota Sera, which isn't my choice. My brother suggested me to look into the car & keep it as an option. Please tell me by how much does Sera's power differ from City-2? And is the Car a good choice? I'm sure its high on maintenance and very rare car to find in the city.

Hey, why dont you try a Optra Magnum dude? The car has awesome power. Good to drive in city as well as in highway. It's capable to overtake any vehicle on the indian road.

Very good suspension. The interior quality looks very very rich esp. the Magnum LT. LS does not look so bad, but the leather quality of LT is significantly different.

The diesel engine is surprising quite. Moreover i believe you will get a fairly good condition Optra in the price raange of yours.

Just a thought, happy hunting!!

Arsh

Optra magnum diesel in 3.85 lacs? Get me one in decent condition and I will buy it myself. Getting a optra diesel so low is very very difficult

to be honest, I didn't consider Optra Magnum LS\LT as an option. IMO the car exterior features more suited like family Car. I think OHC is one of the cars perfect for modification & obviously suits college guy like me Smile

As Sridhar said the Car is out of my budget. Anyways, thanks for your advice mate

I would recommend the Maruti SX4. Almost a SUV in every which way, great ride comfort and the realibility of a Maruti and the low cost of a Maruti as well.
