guys i m facing the same confusion.

as i m in army and in some remote areas if i get my posting servicing facilities for cars of most of the companies won't be available and in that case i think maruti and hyundai are the best as they have service stations in most of the areas.

but now comes the real confusion.i m conused between i20 Asta, swift and Ritz. i m planning to buy a car under a budget of 5.5 L.i 20 asta is costing me around 5.40 L on road from CSD,
ritz Zxi is costing me somewhr around 5 L onroad from CSD and swift Zxi that is not available
through CSD and is costing me onroad for around 6 L.my requirement is that car should be fuel efficient, maintainance cost should be affordable and space(both inside and boot space) should be decent. i want to buy a patrol car as my daily running wont be much.

kindly suggest me which one should i go for.

Hi Amit,

In my opinion if you are buying a petrol car, I20 will be a white elephant. It was lowest mileage and bit underpowered. Otherwise it is very good car, can't compare the boday quality and the space with other cars. Ritz is a very good car with good mileage and cost much less than Swift or I20. The new Swift petrol is a very good car.

So in short if you want space, ride and comfort go for I20, mileage and price go for Ritz and if you want mileage, looks and bit of space go for Swift.

But in case of diseal the case is opposite, I20 is way ahead of the other two in terms of power,comfort,saftey,features,space.... lots more Wink

Cheers and best of luck,

PJS

First of all I own a k series swift vxi & i20 Asta petrol. Here is the deal the i20 is marginally quicker to the 100 ph mark I clocked it at 12.8 seconds while the swift takes more than 13. This is not the 2012 swift with vtvt so that car may be quicker, all I meant is that the i20 is no slouch as people in here claim it to be, it has a problem with torque how ever and with a full load it's a bit sluggish going up an incline. The swift does much better in this regard.

My i20 is stock with no performance enhancements & incidentally I am not the only one who thinks i20 is berated unfairly by ignorant press and people who have never owned one. Overdrive rated it the quickest petrol hatch till the new swift & brio were launched !

I suggest you test drive the petrol i20 with an open mind and you will see its not bad at all when it comes to acceleration. However it's not as easy around the corners as the swift and not as fuel efficient in the city. The AC is the worst I have seen on an Indian car and even with expensive sun film you will struggle in summers. I wil go for the swift or wait for the i20 refresh.

If you are open to choices the jazz is excellent as is the micra.
