It looks bad. Looking at the spare wheel, it is the versa. The problem in these repairs is that in due course of time, the weld marks will develop rusting if not properly treated. Do PM me if you have any queries related to the repairs. Hope work done is of good quality.

Rest assured that the guy is not reading this. And hope that he's run out of luck and either rammed into something a lot heavier than a car or has been caught by the police!

I strongly feel that he had stopped a small distance ahead. If he is reading this, and if he were to be of the literate and sensible lot, he would have stopped at the spot and would have not just run away like a fool.

Thanks guys for all the support.

@Ashish - No plans of selling it as of now atleast. Depends on how the car is after the repairs though I dont see any major problem since it was the boot. Chassis has had a slight impact but then not a major one I suppose. As a matter of fact we were planning to trade this for a Xylo but that was before the accident. Lets see.

@Anshu - I too got out of the car with the same intention but unfortunately could not get to him.

@AK - as of now the estimate is around 50-60k. Probably once the work is complete we will come to know how big the hole in our pocket is.

@Rohit- even if he is caught I doubt something will happen because we decided to not register a case though I was of the opinion that we should get him behind bars so that he does not drink and drive again and take someones life.

@Sankalp - will surely ping you. For now the body has been dismantelled and the chassis has been sent to be made as it was. Rest of the repairs will start once the chassis is back. Its a hard wait of around 20-30 days now. He was not sensible for sure else he wouldnt have be driving after being full of alcohol.

My problem is that I am always over attached to my things be it my bike, car, cellphone or laptop. Even a small scratch gets me worked up and disappointed and this is an entire blow. I know of people who really dont worry about things like this. For now I am trying to cope up with it.

I too feel that he must have stopped somwhere ahead and must have taken small lanes to reach his destination rather than any main roads. But not sure if being literate would mean that he would have stopped. But yes, being sensible might have stopped him and we know that he was not sensible enough.

And I too hope that next time he bangs something like dumper trucks or may be a state transport bus bangs him from behind. Ofcourse harming his car and not him. Amen.

Guess it is getting the Car-O-Liner treatment. Actually sad thing to watch it in that state. Same with me(and many others here too). It pains to even look at a scratch on any of my belongings. If you had opted for NDP, you could have saved quite an amount on this repair. Try to talk to the surveyor and do some adjustments to the claim. Believe me this will help a lot.
