Hi Experts ,

Please help me out to come out of the confusion to select car between manza,i20 and swift ...

I desperately need good mileage, comfort  and it must not be very high maintainance (not more than 4k)

I have decided to go with diesel versionas I travel more than 1500 KM per month.

Am not an expert driver. So the car which I select must be suitable for a beginer even.

Please suggest.

Thanks

Lohith

Hi Lohith,

Manza is sedan, so can't compare it with Swift of i20. But as you said you or not expert driver, driving a big sedan will be difficult for you. Especially for city driving. Also parking them is big trouble.

If you compare i20 and Swift, both are comfortable. Regarding mileage, Swift is a bit more fuel effiecient than i20. Swift is segemnt leader since its launch, so numbers say it all. All new Swift is comfortable and also has refreshing interiors as well. The only issue here is long waiting period for Swift. ( Here in Pune its almost 8 months). So you have to decide whether you have to wait till that long?

Please consider the options like Skoda Fabia, Ritz as well.

Thanks amol86 for your inputs.

But my thinking is Budget. Both Swift and Manza are of almost same budget. We have to spend 8 lacs fot Swift top end... 8.5 lacs for Manza(Sedan) for the same features of Swift (except Air bags).

So, am thinking of getting into Manza .. Any demerits in Manza ??

Any negative feedbacks on Manza (except TATA brand)?

Hi Lohith,

If it is the case then I think going for Manza is best option. You take test drive of Manza and I am sure you will love the space, power, features in it. It has the same fiat driven engine which is under the hood of Swift. But it is more powerful as it produces 90PS of power compared to 75PS of swift. No other sedan in this class has this much space, legroom and headroom.

Looks are awesome(though only in purple colour). It will give you the feeling of having a big car..

Hi Amol ,

But What about Maintainance cost , mileage and the cost for the parts in TATA ...

I heard that cost for parts (Bumper, break pads etc) is almost same as Hyundai .. Is this true ?

And what about the quality of TATA after 3-5 years of usage ?

swift is better to manuvuer in traffic compared to Manza

Maintainance cost and TCO will be much less than a TATA and moreover maruti A.S.S. is much better

Manza

Pros: Good mileage, manageble maintenance cost, spare parts are bit costly than Maruti but not as much as Ford or Skoda. gives you feeling of having something different when there are dozens of Swift on road.

Cons: bad resale value, can't say anything about performance of the car after 2-3 years.

Swift: Car on which you can completely depend on. When I say there are dozens of car on road, then it has to be something special in car to be on top of the segment. can't beat Maruti in Spare parts and A.S.S. Good resale value.

considering FE and maintenance cost, the swift is the best option. Maintenance may be same but FE, after sales service and reliability are generally better than the Tata. Downside, you may have to wait for 6 - 8 months for the swift.

other alternate to the Manza I think is the Punto incase waiting period for swift is an issue. Punto has better brand value than Tata and better reliability except for the ASSC.

Lohit,

I can understand your confusion.

Although Manza is a good car & VFM car, go with it only if want a boot desperately because

1. Its maintenance will be higher comapred to Swift

2. Its mileage will be less than Swift

3. i am not gonna comment on the resale value since it will not matter much after 5 years.

Good Luck

Manza is the best in its class, it has it pros and cons.

But it may not be suggestable for a new driver being a sedan.
