Is that so? In that case it is a very new development (maybe 2012 offer) which I was not aware of. My cousin purchsed Figo Titanium Diesel just 2 months back and it did not come with alloys.

If you have the latest update from Ford, you could be right.

However, just ask the Ford dealer, if you dont want alloys, will it be available for Rs. 6.41L or so (then the game will be out if they are playing with the pricing).

Also, many of the cars with alloy option used to give alloys for only four wheels (not the spare wheel). Examples are Figo, Etios Liva etc. Maruti gives for all the 5 wheels. I dont understand the logic of only 4 alloys since if there is a puncture, till you repair it, your one wheel will look different (non-alloy)!!! Just clarify that too with them.

@tomy, the new figo titanium which was launched in first week of november has all features. It has got alloy wheels, audio with USB.

@himanshu you can get a old car and learn driving or another option would be, there are trainers who come to your door step and teach you driving in your own car. I learnt driving this way. There are really good experts who can teach you well.

I know persons in chennai. You can check for similar persons in ur city.

I see. Since all of you are saying it, you should be right. My cousin must have just missed it by days. I stand corrected.

That is good news. Now the only major features which Figo lack are streeing control for music system and rear power windows. If they add that too, technically Figo will be the best car in terms of features for that price, and the competition will have a tough time.

My friend told me that Ford and Chevrolet Diesel cars don't have good resale value as after 1 Lakh kilometer they tend to give bad performance. Is that so? Does Ford Figo have very less resale value as compared to other Diesel hatchback cars?

How many years will you take to cover 1Lakhs Km? And what is your expectation (resale value) after that when you sell it? And what can you expect from a brand with high resale value?

If you are going to sell off the car frequently, then resale value is more relevant. If you are going to use it for more number of years, then the small difference in resale value (if at all it is there) may not have much impact on the overall cost of ownership.

If you are very particular about resale value, after sale support, lower cost of spares etc, Maruti will score better, but they dont have a product with so many features at that price. Ritz does not have a Zdi model and Swift Zdi is too expensive (plus waiting time).

Other brands (eg: i20) are even more expensive and I dont recommend Tata (that is my personal opinion).

I talked with the Ford sales man today and they told that the new Titanium is coming with alloy wheels attached. The new 2012 price in Jaipur is around 6.56 lacs.

It has decent interior space, solid build quality and top-notch materials. It’s got refined engines, above average performance, great fuel economy, a fabulous ride, and you can have fun with it if you’re in the mood. The biggest clincher here is the price. The petrol ranges from Rs 3.56 lakh for the base variant to 4.58 lakh for the top end titanium. In all It's a good economical car !

I bought a Nissan Micra petrol 20 days back. XL model. The onroad price of Micra diesel starts at 6.75L in Chennai.

This car is almost fully loaded. Missing features are Alloy wheels which you will get it with premium variant.

So I will tell you what i feel with petrol. Mileage is pretty decent. I got 13.2 where 70% highway and 30% city driving. Hope this improves after service. Car is spacious. Good AC, Audio with 4 speakers are good. Seating comfort is not great and not bad either. Little gear noise is there. Pickup is less.

Its not that great but a good car. Diesel looks good with good mileage. But costs more than Figo. Also features like bluetooth/alloywheels are not there. Good part is interiors are very very good when compared to Figo, the quality is also great. This might even look luxurios when compared with figo (I am not comparing with high end cars like BMW/Audi) Also micra has all 4 power windows. Figo does not have rear power windows also they go down only half. Looks wise i like micra. They have good different colors.

Go have a try, go for test drive. To me Micra diesel is a good car.
