That is what I meant when I mentioned city driving. Even in city, for straight driving and large diameter turning, you dont really need PS for small cars.
But we often encounter situations in city where PS is highly recommended, like
1. Parking in congested areas and taking out.
2. Taking U turn in one go in the limited space. If you dont do it in one go, you will create traffic jam, since when you try to reverse for the second attempt, some bike or autorickshaw will come and stop just behind you, and you wont be able to move either forward or backward.
3. Reversing while turning in narrow roads (especially if there is a slope). Try parking and taking out a car without PS in the private parking of Spencer, Pattom (when one more car is parked there - there is space for just two cars). It has a steep slope (sideways). You will immediately see the difference. The steering (without PS) becomes so hard to turn in such a trun with steep slope. I have parked both type cars (with and without PS) there and I could really feel the advantage of PS.
