Verna an excellent looker both interiors and out, pamper ur self with its
long list of features n safety equipments like 6 Airbags, ABS with EBD and even ESP
and Discs all around. It has an engine which is punchy but linear, also
is fabulously refined and frugal.
It is convenient on city roads and suspension absorbs all the pot holes
well. But at speeds where those safety equipments are much on need, it fails.
It leave the driver nervous at any descent indian highway speeds especially
on an uneven stretch. Butter smooth expressways may not give much trouble.
The vehicle is simply incapable by its inherrent ugly dynamics.
But the Rapid on the other hand looses out on looks n fetures but wins hands down
on the dynamics front. It handles all the conditions in a meature way.
Those winey twisties are taken with confidence and swallows all the pot-holes,
nothing felt uncomfortable. There is no constant bobbing motion like in the verna
and it feel well planted at speeds.
In a right out accelaration from 0-100 verna leaves rapid behind by little
less than a second. But, roll on figures in 3rd gear from 20-80 and in 4th gear from
40-100 with its free revving eager n responsive motor rapid surge past verna by
huge 2-3 secs.
FE on both are almost same with verna sits on top by a little margin.
Scary ASS from skoda give a little bit of worry. But with Rapid they want to really
come back. Verna gives u almost peace of mind here. Rapid is better insulated and
refined than vento but clatter is audible much at idle, verna is more refined of the lot.
If you enjoy driving chose Rapid, else Verna will be ok.
Verna feels more spacious at front than rear. The low rear seating robbed some of the
under thigh support, and feel little bit cramped. Rapid on other hand feel spacious at rear.
