^In terms of handling, design of the dash and  performance. They are okay for the lower variants but when it comes to higher variant the competition defeats it outright. But no denying the fact that it is very comfortable and feature-rich.

Yes Corolla is a car for people who buy a new car using their heads and not one going with the heart IMHO

^^ Now how do you buy a car out using your heart and not your head? Stop making such statements. They take the discussions nowhere.

His point is pretty clear, actually. I understand what you guys are all saying.

I wanted to buy the Chevrolet Cruze LTZ but I’ve heard too many negatives about it:

  • Hard clutch with an aggressive return action;
  • Significant turbo lag;
  • Uncomfortable rear seats;
  • Unsuited to city driving, specially in bumper-to-bumper traffic;
  • Manual seat adjustment; and
  • Poor quality plastics in the front.

My brother wants to buy the Cruze anyway because of all the razzle-dazzle it offers and the breakneck performance, but I think that would be a poor decision. I am frustrated with the hard clutch on my existing Hyundai Santro and don’t want to buy a new car with the same problem, specially after having spent Rs. 15 lacs on it.

I’m still quite confused, actually. This is a difficult decision to make.

According to me,

  • If you like the Corolla and its VFM, go for it without any second thought
  • If you ruled the Corolla out, go for the Laura
  • If you can wait, wait for the new Civic

How about the automatic? Easy to drive and economical too. Corrola D will not offer you the performance of the cruze but is a reliable and economical alternative if you are willing to look out. Laura is good if you are looking at the manual version but the DSGs have high rates of failure and wont leave you happy.
