Absolutely. I have high regrards for Mr. Ratan Tata (was just playing with words).

Anyway, though I have never owned a Tata car, the number of complaints I have heard is far too high to be ignored as stray incidents. Even Indica Vista gave trouble. My cousin bought one Vista diesel and the (Fiat) engine was great. But he go fed up of other problems like rattling noise in the cabin etc and after two years sold it off and purchased i20 diesel.

Any brand service guys dont know the car and the care it requires.. especially the wahsermen who must be hired for few bucks on daily basis. I stand by my car during washing because i see them pressure washing the engine bay in all other cars and i ensure that they dont do it on my car.

That is a good idea. I guess one of the causes for electronic component failure (including ECU) is due to water entering parts where it is not supposed to, and switching on the engine before it dries properly. I think ECU is anyway always ON even when the engine is off and hence water should never fall on that.

Unfortunately, I dont get time to monitor the washing since I give it for routine servicing in the morning on my way to work and collect it back in the evening when I come back.

The location and installation of ECU plays a role. In some cars the ECU is sealed properly and also the connectors are waterproof. The ASCs are directed to use low-pressure water to wash the engine bay and also car-specific instructions are given. Some other parts such as the headlamp assembly are resistant to water low in pressure. However, ignorant washers will leave water in your headlamp assembly, which is another foolish job. To avoid such things, ensure that your service centre washes the engine bay with low pressure water or else its better they leave it as it is, as Giriratan has told. However, some amount of cleaning is required in the engine bay such as the radiator, condensor.

IF you find that the service centre uses high pressure water, leave a feedback of less than 7 and they shall run behind you for forgiveness!

two days ago changed the front suspension,at 48000 kms.damage ~7000/-.as it was bouncing heavily even at smooth tarmac.now the problem is gone and engine compartment has no rattles now.changed the dicky hydraulics, bought from a shop beside tata asc, cost 400/-.because once i opened the boot lid,i was cleaning the boot mat suddenly fell on my head.thank god my head was strong enough or else would have got stiches.changed all the rims 2800/-

that two days after changing the shocks, the car became rattle free, but today,it started the rattling from all 4 doors and parcel tray.i want to definitely meet the man who installed the speakers on the parcel tray.it rattles like the windows in a rtc bus!.

on next service at 52000 kms,i will get it damped fromTASC so that it stops rattles.or else no issues untill now.

pickup and mileage increased.was giving 15 with ac 80% on,now it gives 18 with 90%ac on.now it rides in ac same as without ac.

was thinking to add heavy sound system but it sets me back.i think due to BURI NAZAR(lol)

one more thing.when the car is at idle, the gear knob is making sound.as i pull it up or push it down,it doesnt.took to TASC,but said it is common.

as my car is getting genuine day by day,i think it is going to give happy smiles upto 150000 kms.as i think so.my father is not getting tired now on going to office.as i see the smile on his face.as compared to my neighbours swift,it has very very less rattles.many people say it looks like it came out of showroom.but i want to make it best around my city.so i have a keen eye on everything.
