Only reason to discard Fabia is its 3 Cylinder engine... Its not refiend, vibrations are more... If you want to keep car for 6 years then definitely go for Fiat's Multijet 1.3 ... 

i am going to decide based on the result from this thread as i am really confused between skoda and fiat.. i like the power in fiat as i have gone td for both the cars.. will punto lasts long for 6 years without any trouble? please clear my doubt you techies

In the present era every manucture is making cars which can almost meet the global standards.So there is no question about the durability of a car that whether it can long for 5-6 years.If proper care is taken like regular servicing and all there is no reason that Punto (or any other Car) cannot long for 6 years.Remove this concept from your head and go with the car which YOU like the most.

You buy any car,  it will stand upto 10 years.  When M800 still running strong,  there is no debout about Punto.   Even I love Fiat Cars,  but times they are bit regid about service,  and I am sure that it is not a fault from Fiat,  Only low sales numbers dragging them into poor maintaince / support.

If they address on sales,  automatic they will find service reached in stable mode.

I don't found any difference in Punto & Fabia,  tech wise Punto will be better.  but brand wise Fabia aheads.

You will find lots of Fiat lovers,  they can support you well in difficult time,  but in Fabia you won't.
