Hi,

First of all Thanx to every one at Carwale for your quick response and extermely helpful answers.

Im in the proicess of buying a new car within a minimal budget. I've some how narrowed down on FORD FIGO. But, Im confused whether to pick a Petrol version or diesel version. My usage will be around 600 KM per month. May go on a long trip once or twice in a year not longer than 100kms per round trip. Kindly help me to decide whether to buy  petrol FIGO or a diesel powered one. Also, kindly compare whether it is a worthy buy when compared with its peers in the same price range. Imhighly concerned about mileage., economy and the price of the car.

Kindly understand my situation and help.

Thanx in advance,

Haribu

The ford figo petrol neither offers good performance nor good efficiency. Taking ARAI ratings into comparision, the Ford Figo petrol returns just 15.6kmpl of petrol(under ARAI conditions). Other hatchbacks of the segment deliver more in the same conditions. Power output is also not so impressive for a car like the figo. Hence, I would advise you to stay away from the petrol version. The diesel on the other hand offers excellent driveability as well as good efficiency. Hence, if you are serious about the ford figo, its better you choose the diesel. But taking your running into consideration, petrol also makes some sense in case you choose a different car.

You can go for Maruti Swift or Toyota Etios Live or Indica Vista.

If you are going for diesel, Figo is one of the best in pricing. If you want less expensive diesel cars, you can look at Beat and Tata Indica (I personally wont prefer Indica).

I dont know the long term maintenance cost of Figo, though.

Ritz is also a good option but it will be more expensive than Figo.
