Hi Sai,
I hope you are still searching for the right option.
I'll try to help you out. Eventually decision would be yours....
Lets c what can we buy...
1) Honda City
2) Hyundai Verna Fluidic
3) Ford Fiesta
4) Maruti SX4
5) VW Vento
6) Skoda Rapid
7) Fiat Linea
- Now considering H City... Its a peppy car to drive. No doubt you'll enjoy the driving. What you compromise is on quality of interiors. Honda has done some cost cutting in this section, and apparently became a draw back after coming in of VW Vento that gives you top notch quality interiors. I have driven H City. I enjoyed the ride and handling. Most zippy car I must say and slightly bigger as compared to others.
- Considering H Verna.... Its a jack of all trades master of none. I drove Verna fluidic petrol and diesel and was disappointed the car reacted... Petrol was smoother but very dull to drive. May be gearing ratios needs some tweaks. Diesel was a tad better than petrol but the engine wakes up only after you touch 40 kmph. I was not impressed by suspension and it felt soft. Also I experienced body roll. But if you are not much a driving enthusiaist, then you can consider this as if gives you the gizmos that generally come in 14lac+ segment cars.
- Ford Fiesta... Its the most refined car to drive I must say. But some how car failed to attract public. Reason being, launching car after H Verna Fluidic's launch. Its a bit expensive also.
- Maruti SX4... A good car to have but there is nothing exciting about this option.
- Fiat Linea.... In the earlier post...Sai has explained a lot about this car, but my opinion is FIAT is still to achieve confidence of Indian mass, the way Honda has done. Diesel version of this car is even more exciting. But the looks of this car appears to be bit boring and dull to me.. differs from person to person. To hard feelings to FIAT fans..

- Considering Vento or Rapid.... Vento is a robust product. Very well built. A totally well engineered product that keeps to tension free. But when I drove Vento I felt the engine drains out of power. This may be because Vento is bit heavier because of good quality interiors and body. Rapid seems to be a learner from Vento's mistake... Rapid has almost identical interiors while having peculiar Skoda nose in front. Engine and Suspension is also being worked upon and it feels even better than Vento.
My verdict.. Either go for Honda or for Rapid.
