3M Car package ..is it worth?

Hey Guys,

          My friend boght yesterday his ford figo (steel grey). We went for some accessories hunting. As the car was new we thought to have teflon protection and fliming of the car. Below is the quote i got from official 3M Care centre

• Anti Corrosion (under body, 2yrs) : 1683/-
• Paint Sealant : 2973/-
• Sunfilm CR70 Front Windscreen (5yrs) : 7750/-
• Sunfilm CS 50 Side and rear (3yrs) : 5250/-
• Total (including 10.3% serv tax): 17656/-

The above total price is after 10 % discount and the dealer said he can give 5% more only on sun films.

Guys is this acceptable or its too costly???

Sunfilm prices are definitely higher than good open market dealers. You can get in about half the quaote if you search for a good deal over the weekend.

+1 Vikas. Price of sunfilm seems to be on higher side. You can get much better deal than this. Also do look for RE50 for sides, i guess they are cheaper.

@Vikas : These are 3M films and we can garware or other films for less price. But i've seen many suggest 3M sunfilms so . I'll go and check others.

@Arnv : As per the saleperson RE is 400 bucks costly than CS since its reflective type and it blocks more UV and IR rays.

Vaibhav, I am aware that 3 M would be costly but casually i got a quote of 2000 for all 4 sides. with 50% and UV resistent . I dont remember the brand now

And if budget is an issue you can go for garware for sides & 3m for front(dont compromise on front).

BTW. What is the use of paint sealant. is it effective ? worth spending those few thousand?

Paint sealent is nothing but the dupont paint protection. Some people call it teflon coating, polishing and others. These 3M guys call it as paint sealent.

3M sunfilms from 3M authorised dealer in Mumbai costs appx CR70 in front @Rs.5200 & RE50 sides appx 3500, CS series is certainly priced higher a bit. You will also get 5 yrs warrenty for both.

@Master : I also said the dealer that the prices look steep since i had done the filming of my friends car last month. Dealer said that 3M has increased its prices and so the rate change.Will survey at some other accessories shop.

After looking at these prices my friend said is the fromt film so important.? I tried telling him the advantages but he wasn't convinces.
