I putted my Santro for repairing in consultation with Bajaj insurance agent.

Since last 7 days, I am following with Garage, Agenet and accessor but no one give me exact details on claim made to Bajaj Allianze.

Agent & accessor are from Bajaj allianze local office only. Tried Bajaj toll free no and also talked to Bajaj - main office in Pune to provide the details on assesment but they refused the same and told me to contact local office only.

Suddently, today when I called up garage they told your car is ready and take delivery today. This garage people took my original license, RC book and policy also and kept with them.

what to do? How I varify that the assesment done by local accessor is correct? How I check that the claim made is genuine?

pl suggest as I will have to take delivery by today evening. Thanks in advance.

Basically the garage wants their money - either from you or insurer. Now, the way things work it is you who needs to pay and then raise an insurance claim.

You should have removed all important documents and stuff from the car before handing it over to the garage...BTW what did you give them your licence for?

They have no right to retain your documents - it stinks strongly of making you pay whatever they want (or at least intent of it). Approach the police or take advise from a lawyer.

Rohit is right. They have no right to keep your documents, be it local garage or ASC. They might ask for RC book and insurance papers incase of the ASC. Licence they must verify and hand it back to you. But what I did not understand was,

1. Is it the cashless facility that you have opted for?

2. Have you taken insurance from the dealer or your own?

3. Has the claim been looked into and approved by the surveyor?

Garage claimed 15k bill under cashless facility to Bajaj and took 3500rs, from me as depreciation charge.

I took insurance not from dealer but directly went to Bajaj assuming good player

Surveyor is ghost in this story! He sucessfully remained disappeared during this 4-5 days process. Neither he submitted the survey nor Garage people give me anything on what they acessed and put up claim to Bajaj.

This is Jamnagar no one bother to serve the customer. I went up to Bajaj head office and lodge a complaint on web also. Bajaj Pune called up & I made all clear regards to surveyor as well garage.

The height is this garage is in the bajaj preferred workshop (though he is not dealer of huyndai but dealer of Maruti!!!). Workmanship is not at all satisfactory and I need to revisited twice to this garage for balance touch up.

Now, I think to take NDP now. Any suggestion? My current policy is due on 17-Jan-12

Well, the only thing a customer can do is ditch the shopkeeper - so look for another insurer...but I doubt if the story with others would be any different!

Take NDP from a nationalised insurance co or someone whom your preferred dealer will easily interact with. Some centres have good tie ups with specific companies and claims made there will be a breeze. But now, your issue with the insurance is that they arent responding properly or its something else?

Rohit & Sankalp, thanks buddy. I returned to CW since long time though got very quick response. Thanks to CW and league over here.

I should talk first to Hyundai dealer for preferable insurer and then close the deal subsequently.
