Hi All,
I got the alignment done for front wheels and they said no alignment for rear wheels.Still I have some sort of sound ( no vibration) on the front passenger side.So I got it checked with one more shop who said front bearings to be replaced. When I went to a mechanic for replacement,he told that the bearings are good and no need to replace them but he could not identify the exact reason why the sound is there from tyre.He found that the left rear tyre ( behind driver) is having more wear on inner side and the middle thread is sharper with some projections.
So I again went to another big service center ( not hyundai) and told my problem and asked them to identify as I was loosing interest to drive this car as this sound is particularly unbearable at some speeds. They checked the car and the following is the status.
Bearinngs--All are ok.,Front tyre alaignment -Already done.Front tyres--New,Front breakpads-New.
Rear tyres-adjustment by cutting the suspension which is costly and takes half working day.
When the engine mounts were checked they are not in a good condition. So they will be replaced.
I did not understand exactly what they would do at the rear due to language problem ( only broken english).I am planning to give the car after 3 days as the engine mounts and transmission mounts will be available by that time.Planning to change the rear tyre break pads also, now they are 50% good.
Is it a common practice to do something at the rear tyres.
I drive 3000 km/month.So this break pads could I keep for some more time.
BTW: My new i10 in India is idle and we start it weekly. It is used 3000 km but now idle.Once in a month goes out for short trip ( 2km) and sleeps again. When I come back in June,it will be fully busy. When I read this thread,I am worried of the tyres. What should I do?
Speed guns can detect the speed but what can detect the accident?
